Like I commented on the kidney operation–I saw a lot of this during the 12 years I worked in hospitals in the 1960’s. they covered up for each other back then. Glad this is out in the open. Had a friend or relative been in the OR this would never have happened. The Dr’s don’t want anyone awake to see their mistakes.

And everyone complains about American hospitals!!! It just shows we (Americans) aren’t the only screwed up heath care. And we (Americans) want social health care?? This is one of many screw ups that happen in the health care field..

This story shows the problem with 24-7 news services like Foxnews and its competitors.
In the old days when all we had was newspapers and 6:00 to 7:00 news broadcasts we
would never hear such a story, especially if it happened in Europe.
I believe we are actually getting too much information now, especially on things
that should not really concern us, and things that are best left private.

At least they can do is save her old one for someone else who has ruined theirs, or mail it to her with a sincere regrets letter.

They got her on a technicality. Half of the Anus can be considered to be the top of one leg…so she had an operation on BOTH legs at half the cost!

Any compassion for the unlucky person who checked in to get their a@# fixed and ended up getting their leg operated on. Let’s hope it wasn’t an amputation. Hopefully people are aware should this happen once ‘Universal Healthcare is in force that you will not be able to sue for a mistake like that….I am sooo scared of Universal healthcare… People , study it, resaerch it, talk to someone who lives with it……..

I can’t imagine where those surgical team place the extra and to think to clean both. Talk about extra waste to dispose as a result of this socialized healthcare which the democrats glee on the idea of extra waste they can conveniently budget and tax the woman to death.

She needs to be careful. My brother underwent a leg amputation several years ago and the doctors removed the wrong leg. He was going to sue the hospital but by the time he got around to it he no longer had a leg to stand on….

Always read the orders with the surgeon before you go in to the operating room. Use a felt marker to mark the inciscion site. Read your own identity bracelet and make sure it’s you.

Looks as if we are three to four times safer on our highways than in our hospitals - and some are insisting on a national health-care “system” - WOW! This yet-to-form bureaucracy could probably foul a junk yard.

Hospital personnel killed my mother and because of this new law, we cannot even sue. The maximum amount you can sue for is $250.00 and with court costs and lawyer fees, most attorneys won’t even take the cases. Many private facilities have completely dropped malpractice insurance because they no that no one will sue now. Wow! I guess that kind of gives them a License to Kill. Thank you my dear liberal lobbyists!

Now,now, lets not bring up the issue of socialized medicine. (I do agree it is not the solution). This incident just has to do with the surgical team not being responsible and not doing their job the right way. There is a sequence of steps that must be taken before any surgery and one of the links in the chain broke. I feel sorry for this lady. It’s called anastomose. They create a passageway from the exsisting one and exits threw the new. Obviously they close the other opening. I see what goes on in the healthcare system. There are too many sick people and not enough of staff. You have people that of course abuse the system, and my belief they take up too much of staff time. People who are really sick would get faster service if people that have sore throats or fever should stay home and go threw there PCP or use a walk-in. Of course there are the occasional abnormal onsets, and there is no other choice. You all have a wonderful weekend!

Properly describing your problem enhances proper diagnosis and repair. She mentioned to the doctors she had a crappy leg and they solved the problem by giving her a new bunhole, making it a little tighter. Hence no more crappy leaks giving her a crappy leg.
