My husband has been taking Gleevec since 2001. It is a miracle, but the cost is only made possible with insurance. It would be unthinkable to chose my husbands continued health or caring for our 5 kids. I wonder would the drug companies charge so much if no-one bought them due to price? Unfortunately they know there is no price on life that we will not pay. I do thank the makers of Gleevec, with out it I would be a widow.
A good way to take all the assetts from our elders just before they die. All while providing “hope”. False hope that is. Except a small few examples chemo is just poison for a couple months extra. Best chemo for pancreatic cancer? get a plane ticket to tahiti and a big bag of weed. doctors and hope, not always a good thing. false hope, definitely a bad thing. that’s why i became a surgeon.
As typical the DRUG Companies and the traditional Doctors who prescribe these over- inflated priced poisons come out ahead in the “Cancer War”. PREVENTION is the solution. Kevin Trudeau is proven correct and right-on again! Here is the easiest Natural cure, get your body into alkaline state, cancer only survives in an Acidic state. Please buy and read, “Natural Cures THEY don’t want you to know about” books 1 and 2….They won’t put you into debt, and make you sicker. They will give you the answers that the legal Pushers…I mean DRUG Companies and traditional Doctors won’t, why?? The real and correct answers would ruin the “Cancer conspiracies” profits!! Don’t be duped, they don’t care about you, they care about their profits!!
The discussion of fees with patients is difficult for doctors. However, there are times that this is important and the treatment of cancer is one of them. Patients should ask their doctor about the cost and the chance of recovery. Due to the malpractice atmosphere, the doctor is forced to do everything to help the patient without consideration of expense. Thus, the decision for therapy must be a joint decision. The decision of treatment is always an emotional one because we never want to give up on a family member. My mother died of breast cancer and some of her last words were ” Son, you are never ready to go”. There are certain cancers that I as a retired doctor would take therapy and some that I would not. The quality of life offered is just not worth the few weeks that I would get. The expense taking away money that the surviving family might put to better purpose is just not a good investment. Doctors can help cancer patients if asked.
