kory was busted for playing with himself while watching the neighbour's girls in the hot tub next door.
i can imagined why pat would hide herself in the bath room for 2 yrs.

this sounds more like midwest white trash more and more now.

the only thing is they were too dumb to become addicted to crystal meth.

idiots!! How can someone become so mentally ill that they don't leave a toilet. I don't get it!!
I am sick of hearing about this. Isn't there more important issues to discuss??

If she is considered by the court system to be a "dependant adult", the person who should be charged is her legal guardian. If you are the legal guardian of a dependant adult, you have a legal responsibility to get help. I assume her psychiatric condition is the cause for her being deemed a dependant adult. As such, the guardian should have called long before now. It is not a stretch to assume that the boyfriend probably also had some degree of mental illness. I cannot imagine a mentally healthy person allowing someone to live in a bathroom for two years and never try to contact anyone for help.

What's the point of charging the guy? She confines herself to a room boyfriend brings her food and water (vs. using starvation as a means of getting her out), he eventually calls for help, but by then toilet seat is stuck to her. Seriously, you want to charge him for what?

Had he called 911 the day after("my girlfriend won't get out of the bathroom"), he probably would have been charged with abuse of the emergency system. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

GET THE HEADLINE RIGHT

Media sensationalism run rampant. She was in the bathroom for two years and possibly on the toilet for a month. The first few lines of the article contradict the headline. Irritates the hell out of me.

I digress, if my husband suddenly refused to come out of the bathroom, I would have called paramedics in a few days and gotten him some help. Obviously this woman was not in her right mind and because of that, she became a dependant adult - dependant on her boyfriend for food and shelter. The fact that she was in there for so long is negligible and downright stupid. Yes, her dim-witted boyfriend should have know better and, yes, he should share some accountability in the severity of her illness and neglect. What, if anything, was he thinking?

if she could sit on a toilet for two years straight, i am sure a little tear gas would not do anything to make her budge

It seems like the woman is very ill, both mentally and physically. Unfortunately, if other people around her are not capable of offering proper support, situations like this develop. My guess is that the boyfriend is either retarded, and/or mentally ill himself. Other people are "enablers", or they simply don't care enough about others to act. I bet that we will start to hear more about the woman's history, in terms of her history of mental illness, or recent descent into mental illness. Also, mental illness requires the intervention of professionals as soon as possible. Well meaning family members can sometimes make things worse.
