A Sausage a Day …

A  new study shows that eating just one link of sausage per day can increase a person’s risk of bowel cancer by one-fifth.

What do you think about this study?

Yet another reason to go vegetarian…

It is also true that most people who eat sausage are generally big drinkers of alcholic beverages.

It’s also been confirmed that walking in front of a bus may decrease life expectancy.

I thought that Cancer Incorporated had finally given up on the “Oh! Everything causes cancer” in lieu of “Oh, but if you eat it will reduce your chance of getting cancer.” Because of garbage “research” like this I will never ever give to cancer incorporated or believe any of their excretions.

No where do they comment on how this conclusion was arrived at. Science and medicine require intelligent, well-designed, blinded studies to arrive at meaningful conclusions. This sounds like the standard alarmist “crap in- crap out” methodology.

As it is true that prospective, randomized, blinded, long-term studies provide optimal scientific rigor in regards to interpretation of results, associations between variables and outcomes are often first identified through large retrospective analyses (ie smoking and lung cancer). Throughout the scientific and medical literature in peer-reviewed and well-respected medical journals, data linking an increased intake of processed meats to an increased risk of various types of cancers continues to emerge; it’s not just this single study that provides these results. If you would like to set up a prospective blinded trial further evaluating this link, go ahead. Why is it so hard to believe that consumption of large amounts of processed meats may increase your risk of certain cancers?
