a child is a child 2 faces or not desrves to loved! god will not give you anything you cannot handle! and she is still adorable!
She is a beautiful gift from God. It’s amazing that she’s still alive and well. After two months, how life threatening can the birth defect be, right? And at the same time, no one knows if that little one is in pain or not. She could be suffering. I think that they should run scans, just to be safe. There may not need to be an operation of any sort. But just to know if your baby is okay, is enough to help you sleep easier at night.
Well, thank God she was born in a culture which accepts and respects her! Reminds me of the “octopus girl” born a while ago, also in India, and also revered as a reincarnated goddess.
May God continue to show mercy and love to this family. They will need it over the long run.
Gods little gift. I don’t understand why the parents haven’t named her yet. I also don’t understand why so many children from India are born with such severe problems and the parents are ignoring the doctors who said they do the CT for free.
This is so tragic…I don’t believe this innocent child will live long…tho’ she should be medically examined for health reasons. I have never seen such thing…it really is bizzare.
This is tragic…she will not probably live very long. Her parents should have this child medically examined. I have never seen such a thing…it is bizzare.
No matter her condition she is still a gift from God ! And yes, they should let the medical community check her out to make sure she is not suffering in anyway. May God bless her and watch over her…….
What in the world is going on in India?!
Kids born with 8 limbs, 2 faces? I’m going to keep my gene pool as far away from that country as possible!
I think it may be time to start testing the drinking water.
I think that is soo….. sad for just a 2 week old baby having to deal with such pain and agony. I cannot imagine what she would have to deal with in the long run. I hope that baby gets better. There is no particular reason why she has to deal with that.
If there ever was a reason to pull out the jobs that have been outsourced to India, this is it! There is definitely something wrong in that country.
I would surmise that it is because there are way too many people, with too little to eat, and pollution up the wazoo from a government that still runs the country with backward ideas.
Don’t you think this is possible? They have shanty towns that make the worst of the cities in this country look like absolute paradise.
Ghandi may be an icon, but India is not working properly as it is in it’s current state.
I have no suggestions as to what they should do, but I certainly think it’s about time that the US take back the jobs that have been outsourced by Corporate Shills looking to make big bucks for no work and the service sector jobs that are being pushed by corporate America do nothing to improve our lot!
Nice try. April Fools.
My prayers go out for this small child, who is living in a heathen nation. May God surround
her with His presence and ward off the demons that would keep her from being treated
medically.
I am not saying her parents are demons. Just that demonic forces surround that nation.
Things I’d like to know:
Do both of the heads function?
Can she control both?
Does she see with 4 eyes?
Can she be fed by either mouth?
Can she hear out of both ears?
I must admit, there is something mesmerizing about her, very unique and in it’s own way, very beautiful. I wish her all the best.
Which mouth do they feed?
She is pretty!
Is the baby otherwise healthy? Does she have one brain or two? A little more detail in the story sure would have been nice.
It is a shame to witness a family’s relinquishment of their innocent child’s medical care due to social pressure or religious beliefs. It is the same as abandonment.
I never hear of this kind of thing from anywhere, but India. I realize that there are cojoined twins everywhere, but this region seems to have some of the most severe cases.
Doesn’t anyone remember the Bohpal, India incident back in the eighties? DOW still hasn’t cleaned up after that and now many birth defects, like these, are resulting. If you still don’t know what I am talking about do your research and find out. Maybe then you won’t be so suprised.
MY GUESS IS THAT SINCE THE BABY IS CONSIDERED A GOD, THAT THE PARENTS ARE BENEFITTING FINANCIALLY BECAUSE OF THIS AND THEY ARE AFRAID TO HAVE THE BABY TESTED BECAUSE THEN THERE WILL BE A DIAGNOSIS, AND THEN THE PEOPLE WILL BE LESS INCLINED TO TREAT THE BABY (AND THE PARENTS) AS ROYALTY.
SAD, BUT VERY TRUE!!
I really believe that there should be free, mandatory pre-natal classes in ALL of India!
There should also be monitoring of the water supply, and ALL pregnant Women be given some kind of help, so that they can eat what they need to in order to have healthy children!
Maybe we should not outsource our work to India? Because it is akin to supporting how the people in India are not only living in, but also dying in! The Government should be held acountable for the way it treats its’ people! These bizarre births are NOT NORMAL< INDIA!!!!!
Lastly, I believe that the Parents of this little girl are not having her tested because right now their daughter is considered a religious figure. That means they are probably getting gifts, money, food, and other things from people who feel they will be blessed by their child for doing so.
They don’t want the gravy train to stop. it may sound callous, but I see no other logical reason for their not wanting to have their daughter tested. They don’t even want to give the child a name, because then that would make the child “NORMAL” !!
If the tests were done, then there would be an actual name and proof that this is a condition which has happened to other kids, so that will also reduce their daughter to NORMAL status and take away the mistique that is currently garnering the Parents with so many “benefits”.
Instead of being allowed to have surgery to give her a chance at life, she’s being worshipped as a god?
How pathetic and sad.
This child and family should be left alone by the western media, the parents and child are citizens of the nation of India, and that nation will set the standards for the care of this child, there is no surgery that will separate this child into one or two healthy individuals, she should be fed and cared for, and loved by her parents and close family, not used as a freak show for western media, CT scans, poking and probing will do nothing to improve her quality of life. A small donation would be appropriate, telling the parents what to do or demeaning India is not. jeff
In the USA such birth defects may not normally be made very public. So one would not read about them very often. She is a beautiful girl. Too bad it’s such a severe defect. Time will tell whether she can survive or not. Mercifully, she probably will not have millions of dollars spent on forcing her to live longer than is reasonable, if she is suffering. In our country, we should stop doing that so much. It’s very cruel.
God blesses the parents and the baby.
As I know It doesnt happen before like this. I can say this girl has been blessed by god, thats what she is healthy. Could you please put more info that how the parents/doctors feeding the girl. Is both mouths are able to eat. Please put more info.
This is very unusual but we have to rembember that many babies are born cojoined and many with no arms or legs. Granted cojoined can be separated and those missing limbs can get prosthesis if are able to. This case though seems difficult if at some point it was decided to somehow give this little girl as normal a life/look as could be offered without a life of constantly being looked upon as a freak with 2 faces/ heads. It probably will be so, it will be her life and I cannot see her wanting this for herself. Her life would be difficult and it is very sad to think so. I know they are worshipping her right now in India and she is very cute and pretty and just a baby, but as she grows older this little girl is going to have a hard time her whole life of being commented about, stared at, left out of society. etc. I maybe wrong and only time will tell how her life will go and how she manages and copes. She may be able to contribute to this world in some amazing way but I do feel sad in a way because of what she is going to have to go through and she cannot decide for herself if she really wants to live with 2 faces/heads. She is a child of god but again I feel for her because our world is not an easy place to live in. I pray god has a plan for her for her best interests. I wish for her a life of support and love.
This is partly a reply to Elsie, Jesse and Maggie, who have been very generous with their criticism for the Indian Government and the way the nation functions. I am Indian and I agree that my government is not one of the best. But to blame a rare biological incidence which has an equal possibility of occuring anywhere in the world, on the Indian Government or the country? Or questioning the ‘genetic make-up’ of the people?
I find that ridiculously hilarious. How ignorant can anyone get? So what should we expect now? America to declare war on us because of our ‘perceived’ high rate of genetic abnormalities?
Are they aware of the Bhopal Gas Tragedy or the effect of Orange Agent, that was used by the American Government in Vietnam during the war? Google these 2 things and view the images.
The Elephant Man was from England, the cannibal Armin Meis from Germany, Australia has a very famous case of incest between a father and daughter, Texas has a polygamist cult……………
My point being: You will find ‘freak’ cases everywhere in this world. Genetic abnormalities are also found everywhere in this world. The reason why most of the public is not aware of them is because they are RARE!
Totally with Kash,
)
There are people that should take a plane and visit places and then be able to claim the have the faintest idea of what they are talking about.
India is a beatiful country with beautiful, hard working people (even though it is true they could do a bit better on the cleanness side sometimes
Cheers
I agree with Kash. I find many commentators are extremely uneducated. First, the parents will not seek CT scans on the child which they believe to be a gift from God. They don’t even know what the scan can or cannot do for their child. Second, India is the second most populous country with over a billion people; of course genetic abnormalities are going to be seen more often there than elsewhere. Also, the people of India have embraced her, whereas in most other countries, like China or the US, they probably would have terminated the pregnancy. Third, the parents haven’t named her yet beacuse its a huge cultural thing to choose an appropriate name for the child. People take their time to choose a name, and there’s a lot of thought that goes into that process. Also, in the US, we get an ultrasound and learn of the child’s sex in advance, and we choose a name because we “like it” and “it sounds pretty,” whereas in India, there is more of a religious and cultural aspect that comes into play. Fourth, as far as benefitting from their child’s abnormality - I highly doubt it. These are poor people coming to visit a unique child, not rich people. And even so, they can use all the help they can get from people’s kindness - in the US, just yesterday I saw a story where women from around the country were sending in their breast milk to help a premature baby survive when her mom died of an unknown cause shortly after her birth. Also, when people in the US carelessly have 8 kids from IVF, people send in diapers and other items to benefit the parents, but no one criticizes them. Think twice about the circumstance before you talk about others’ “benefitting” from such circumstances. Chances are it is not going to be a great economic benefit to the family for having a two headed child.
i am really amazed to see the girl,, bless her,, but dont understand y they are refusing to seek medical help,, dont get me wrong,, some people look the baby as cash generater in the name of god,,
Uneducated? Ignorant?
No.
I have simply read several stories very recently, that are about “strange” birth defects that are located, where?
India.
My inquiry was simply, “what in the world is going on in India?”
I may have made my statement with humor, but isn’t obvious that there has to be some kind of environmental influence on these happenings?
I guess I’m “uneducated” and “ignorant” to question if it’s more than being blessed by the Gods.
I’m still keeping my ignorant genes far, far away from India.
