Study Says Drinking Eight Glasses of Water Not Needed

It has been said that water can remove toxicities from your body, relieve headaches and keep your skin glowing.

But, will drinking eight glasses of water each day each day really improve your health?

Not really, according to a study done at the University of Pennsylvannia; it is being reported by BBC News.

Authors Dr. Dan Negoianu and Dr. Stanley Goldfarb said in the Journal of American Society of Nephrology they found little evidence that drinking that much water improves an individual’s health.

Come on- The body can eliminate toxins – even the ones we make ourselves – only by sweating, peeing, pooping, and coughing. All these modes require water for transport. AND on top of that, the cells need water to even GET nutrients into them! We are a dehydrated society and the more we drink things that require MORE water to neutralize them, like coffee and soda pop, the more we mislead ourselves about the benefits of water. I’d like to know what sort of wreck the test subjects really were and what else they drank and how long the study really looked at them. This report is way misleading and -I believe -give an absolutely wrong conclusion!

We may not always get eight to ten glasses of water every day, but I do believe it is something that we should strive for.

The book, “The Water Cure”, by Dr. Batmanghelidj, M.D. claims that unintentional dehydration produces stress, chronic pains and many degenerative diseases.

Dr. Batmanghelidj also claims that dry mouth is not the only sign of dehydration and waiting to get thirsty is wrong. He explains scientifically, at the molecular level, that it is water that regulates all functions of the body. Seventy-five percent of our bodies are composed of water. The brain is eighty-five percent water.

If you don’t drink enough water, some functions of the body will suffer. Dehydration produces system disturbances.
