This is a big DUH moment. The fact is the communities or social circles are smaller in the county are more isolated and years of abstinence only preaching hasn’t worked. Women in general are having sex more and more often with more partners and often times are under this misguided notion that being on the pill will also protect them from getting STD’s since it does a pretty god job of staving off a belly full of man juice infection. Get with it people we need to tell kids everything and not hide behind the veil of misguided ethics. If you didn’t preach if you have sex, make sure the guy is wearing a rubber or tell the young men don’t tap it until you wrap it then you are as responsible for their infection just as much as if you have been sticking it in them yourself.
When society promotes promiscuous and careless sexual activity, there is a possibility that sexually transmitted diseases will increase. In the 50’s and 60’s sexual promiscuity was discouraged and frowned upon. It’s kind of funny that STD’s weren’t as prevalent. Hmmmm Is there a correlation there?
The Duh Factor is huge. These people are not suffering from a lack of sexual education. They are lacking in morality. Being aware of the mechanics of sexual behavior with out being aware of the much larger consequences of sexuality outside of marriage leave people in a state where sex is of trivial consequence while their need for Meth is very present, very real. To say they are engaging in sexuality lightly is secondary to their low moral character in the first place, i.e. when they began dabbling in drug abuse in the first place. If you don’t respect your body enough to not fill it with foriegn substances for a “high,” why would you hesitate to engage in behavior that comes naturally outside of a moral structure that forbids it?
They’re baffled? It seems everything baffles the fuzzy-brained Leftists in La La land. Of course, they’ll blame this “very serious” problem on everything but it’s actual cause. That is, the “tens-of-Millions” of illegals that now own Mexifornia! Aside from all the other problems they cause, these illegals have managed to re-introduce diseases we long ago conquered!
It is the influx of illegal aliens introducing syphilis and a variety of other diseases into our state. That is why we are seeing more and more of these unchecked outbreaks occurring on a regular basis. Illegal aliens do help the economy though. In this case it will be not only their tax-evading employers, but also the drug companies and condom manufacturers. Thanks Mexico.
Typical government employee, they are “baffled” at a rise in VD when the participants are having unprotected promiscuous sex. WELL DUH GEORGE! Every sailor in the world knows the pitfalls of this one. Once again, typical government employee.

Since teaching morals have been relegated to tv, movies, and government money making programs. It is no wonder why the spike in sexually transmitted deseses. Remove the moral fiber that instilled self dicipline in individual’s lives and what can we expect. It all begins with the family. That is where real life long morals are taught. The fragmented families of today are kept so busy with trying to keep a life style that is no longer there that they gave over their children to the leftest styles of the few who own and put out bad morals. It goes on and on. Over the many years of this we end up in a place where we are today. Solution? And many will not like it. But we must put God back into schools. ALL schools. Pledge of allegence, morning prayer. Not the moment of silence that does absolutly nothing. Period!!!

The dumbest thing I have ever read is the above reply by A. Levy. I pretty much agree with most of the other replies stated above.
A recent CDC study rocked the homosexual community in finding that although homosexuals comprise only one-to-two percent of the population, they account for an epidemic 64 percent of all syphilis cases.
The CDC reports that those who contract syphilis face potentially deadly health consequences: “It is now known that the genital sores caused by syphilis in adults also make it easier to transmit and acquire HIV infection sexually. There is a two to five fold increased risk of acquiring hiv infection when syphilis is present.”
According to the CDC, “transmission of the organism occurs during vaginal, anal, or oral sex.” In addition, the Archives of Internal Medicine found that homosexuals acquired syphilis at a rate ten times that of heterosexuals.
Those who choose to engage in homosexual conduct do so at their own peril. We need to start teaching our younger generation that bad behaviors place them and others at risk. This should not — and must not — be tolerated by society anymore.
I also strongly disagree with comments by Kevin. And Jeff/Minuteman. If you really hate Mexicans join the MinutKlan. As for Numbers USA their polls are so biased they are a joke.
Everyone is correct. Nobody is saying that Mexicans are inherently inferior and therefore breed disease, but they are from a country with a seriously substandard health care system which breeds disease. Mexicans also have a higher percentage of their population that is already infected with Hepatitis coming from their country (their lack of proper water sanitation systems alone would contribute greatly to this), and meth abuse is much more common with them, which also breeds such diseases through needle sharing, snorting up from shared straws, and more risky behavior in general. It is true that our public health agencies, through nearly a century of hard work, had nearly eradicated a lot of diseases that were commonly present here. Polio cases, which had been eradicated in my generation, have made a comeback recently, probably because of immigrants since all babies born in America were immunized for this until recently since the govt. thought it was eradicated from this country.
Society does glorify sex/sexuality. This is especially true of the media. And why is it that parents are trying to be their kid’s “friend” instead of being a parent? The problem really stems from the breakdown of the family. Who can blame outside factors when there is not the proper family structure and parental support to mitigate them?
The bottom line is that all of these issues are symptoms of an underlying problem. If your child turns up with a meth problem or STD, they obviously have issues with self-esteem and lack of parental guidance. If society glorifies sex, it is because the parents have not stepped up and demanded that the media not perpetuate it by turning off the TV or telling their children that is not how your body should be treated.
Look at the Girls Gone Wild videos. Those girls are all 18-22, probably still live on their parent’s paycheck even while away at school, all have boob jobs Daddy has paid for, and they go down there, disrespect their parents on film like that, bu the fact is that their parents have allowed it. Who paid for their boob jobs? Who paid for their nice cars? Who pays for their hair highlights and Solar Nails? Who paid for them to go on Spring Break? And that is the future of our country…
Siph = “pig disease” from barnyard behavior
