AHA: Check Young Hearts Before Prescribing ADHD Meds
Children should be screened for heart problems with an electrocardiogram before getting drugs like Ritalin to treat hyperactivity and attention-deficit disorder, the American Heart Association recommended Monday.

we have had many many foster kidds come to our home, many unmedicaed adhd with apts to be taken to get medication for adhd, as soon as i see this in files, i changed their diets, no sugar no caffien, in 7 cases all but 1 did not need the meds. all these kids now a days i feel are raised on too much sugar, take it away, i bet a lot of this adhd will lessen.
