Menstrual Blood Can Help Repair Heart Damage

A new study finds menstrual blood could help repair heart damage.   Researchers used menstrual blood from nine women.  About 20 percent of the cells started beating about three days after being put together in vitro with cells from the hearts of rats.  Those cells later formed sheet-like heart muscle tissue.

The study finds that rats who had heart attacks improved after they received the menstrual blood cells.

If these results are correct then this is a break through. There will be no excuse to continue with embryonic stem cell reseach if you have this, no need to create an embryo just to kill it for scientific research. This is a research I can support , but I will not support any bill that wants to make embryonic stem cell reseach legal.. Menstrual blood has no moral issue hanging on to it as embryonic stem cell. So lets hope this is the way to go since menstrual blood would be so easy to collect.
