Give me a break! I don’t think any “thinking” American would concede that Merck’s highest priority is the safety of the vaccines. They are grossing billions of dollars a year….THAT is their highest priority. When are we going to stop using our babies as lab rats for these greedy pharmaceutical companies???

Before anyone comments I want you to sit in on an FDA inspection. See your tax dollars at work.
Also I invite you to educate yourself on vaccine production. It’s a costly, technically involved, time-consuming process. That is why so few companies make vaccines.
If you think you can get along without the pharmaceutical companies, go to your local store and buy some tissue culture (I’m sure Wal-Mart must carry it) grow some virus in your kitchen and self-vaccinate. But be ready to invest in millions of dollars worth of equipment first or you might end up killing yourself.
Does anyone really believe that the FDA was wandering through the Merck facility and just happened to “find” contaminated vials? First of all, assuming this were the case (and it wasn’t - file your own Freedom of Information Act request and actually read the report) and assuming Merck and the pharmaceutical industry is as evil as everyone wants to think, would they be stupid enough to leave contaminated product around in plain sight?
Give me a break.
This is just another example of half-a$$ed, agenda-driven reporting.
Is it any wonder the major news outlets are in trouble?

Has anyone done a thorough personnel check to see if there are employees at this company who have terrorist-country ties? You may laugh, but consider the opportunities for foreign immigrants to become employed by pharmaceutical companies and then carry out their plans to bring America down. Tampering with vaccines and other widely-used drugs (heart meds, diabetic meds) is one way to “kill the infidels” which is the purpose and intent of people who hate America. Think about it……………….

The pharmaceutical industry is no different than any other business entity. ‘Greed’ is the reason every business goes into operation, and without profit, they would cease to exist.

Merck and co though seem to have developed a ‘habit’ of selling products that aggravate certain existing problems (vioxx, vytorin) and seem willing to stay the course regardless of clinical evidence. This puts a shadow on the entire industry, which to be honest, has enhanced the quality of life, invented cures, and extended the lives of everyone. No small feat.

To those willing to throw stones, who or what can say that everything they have done in their lives was done to 100%? Nobody. That’s an expectation that just isn’t realistic. Just as everything you buy has variances within the manufacturing, so too is the human body, and you cannot possibly account for diferences in medicine the variability of which makes us human.

Vaccine production is costly, technologically challenging, time-consuming and relatively high risk from a financial standpoint. How many generic vaccines are there? Not many, if any. There is a reason for that. If vaccines were an easy path to riches there would be a lot more companies making them.
The headline “FDA spots contaminated vaccines” would be hilarious if it weren’t so damaging and inflammatory.
Assuming there actually was visually contaminated product ready to be unleashed on an unsuspecting public, would Merck or any other company be foolish enough to leave it sitting around in plain sight? Or even hidden somewhere, for that matter? If it were so easy for an FDA inspector to “spot”, don’t you think everyone else who looked at the vial would see it, as well? Please.
The FDA descends on pharmaceutical facilities wielding absolute power. What goes into those FDA inspection reports is the one-sided view of the inspector. The company is given a certain period of time to formally respond, which, according to the article Merck has done. Unfortunately we don’t get the benefit of seeing that.
A responsible journalist would have waited and re-filed a Freedom of Information Act request once Merck’s responses were on the record. THAT would make for interesting and informative reading, I’m sure.

I remember a time when the United States was known for protecting citizens. Now, we have tainted food, badly built cars, horrible health care, and now - tainted children’s vaccines. When is our government going to finally do the job it was meant to do - protect us?
What is the FDA afraid of? Or WHO is the FDA afraid of?
When will this become a big enough political issue that it is taken seriously?

How many of our children must be sickened before the government will step up and say enough? My son contracted the Mumps virus after his vaccine and got extremely sick after the Measles one. Thank God I didn’t allow him to receive the MMR that the doctors push. How many children will have to develop Autism and disorders on the spectrum before parents are going to have the right to say no. I have worked over the years with so many kids who were normal, healthy little children until their bodies were flooded with vaccines that their parents are forced to give them. I don’t care what any company says about the vaccines. When the people doing the testing have a vested interest in the outcome then the results can not be trusted. Everyday I work with a co-worker whose son developed severe, severe autism from the MMR virus and I see the pain in his eyes everyday. The if only I had said no… thoughts that go through his head. One small problem with a vaccine can have tragic results for some many.

The truth is that the Pharm. companies promise so much money in grants to states if they push vaccines and get so many of them done through their doctors offices. It is not about keeping our children healthy and safe. Immunizations are not a bad thing, necessarily. It is bad however to put them into children while they are babies. Babies do not have an immune system to even work with these vaccines and is not even FULLY developed until the age of 7! That is why breastfeeding is so important…it is the babies immune system. That is also why so many children end up getting the diseases that they were so-called vaccinated from, they have no antibodies. So if you can wait until your child is at least 2 years of age to get vaccines it would be much healthier and the risks are not as great. There is a reason why autism, ADHD, diabetes, allergies and asthma has increased dramatically in the last decade…way more vaccine are administered. When I was an infant in the ’70s I received 13 vaccinations in all by the age of 5. My daughter, born in 2007, got 18 vaccinations by 6 MONTHS of age…….18 in 6 MONTHS!!!! I finally did tons of research on them and decided that she will no longer get vaccinations (at least while she is a baby and there is not an outbreak of any sort in the area.) Also, for those of you who think you don’t have a choice as a parent because of school requirements, YOU DO HAVE A CHOICE! You just have to look into it for your state.

An awful lot of long-winded responses,heh! So why does CDC not know what FDA has reported?Because CDC has to be SHOCKED into action,or a NEST of health problems gets someones attention.Their name says DISEASE “CONTROL”.Mission unknown, or we do what we said we do.The FDA attempts to be proactive.I’ve conducted walk-thru’s and I’ve experienced walk-thru’s.One is gotcha the other is “Oh hell,they are here.Joe start the tour at ? so i can alert! to hop-to”.The reason no-one makes vaccines is the LIABILITY.The “gov’t” has to financialy insure the company.So x-number of “recipiants” of a miss-made batch dies\is “damaged”.The possible cost of lawsuits is many times less than the cost of oversight.HAVEN’T heard that word in a long time, have you?SOOO in America you spin the wheel and accept your chances. A point to think on: Why are meds not required to list country of origin (of ingredients)?

I would like to know about any problems relating to Merk’s pneumonia vaccine. My husband took the vaccine in December of 2007 and approx one week later had surgery on his right hand for a huge abcess that was cultured by St Joseph Hospital in Atlanta, GA and determined to be streptococcal pneumonia bacteria. the infectious disease specialist said it was the only case he had ever seen of this bacteria in the soft tiissue. Extremely serious health problems ensued as a result of the medication he was given to fight the infection. He suffered kidney and liver failure, eventually recovered but now has permanent liver damage and will require monitoring for the rest of his life.
