She may be hyperventilating. I have hyperventilation syndrome and it causes me to breathe faster than I should, even when resting, which in turn causes headaches/dizziness and burning/tingling in my extremities. It took four months, numerous tests and prescription drugs and at least five different doctors (2 family docs, neurologist, ENT & cardiologist) before one of them figured it out, but still no real treatment.

Have they tried to look for something called:
Acute Intermitant Porphyria? Especially if her urine is changing colors and their is blood in it. It is very, very rare. I have some experience with it... I was misdiagnosed as having it. I would also suggest looking into auto-immune diseases, which are sometimes very hard to diagnose, though they might also run in the family.

Just trying to help. I live in constant pain since I was about 12 years old. It's not fun.

I don't have this problem, but I am in the same situation of doctors not being able to find out what is wrong with you. My problem is going on 8 years come June 1st and we still cannot figure out what is wrong with my leg. I had total knee replacement back in 2000 and that surgery went great but the after effects is my problem. My leg keeps going into spasms, I cannot sit or stand for any amount of time. I cannot bend my leg because it pops and it feel like a spring coiling and my leg shoots out in the air. If I am sleeping which I don't get enough of because my leg won't let me sleep, my leg will shoot straight in the air and cramp up so bad. I have had every test and MRI's and EMG's, nerve tests, x-rays, sonograms, you name it I have had it. Even been to a Pain Management Clinic and they cannot figure why my leg is acting this way. Went to see my orthopaedic doctor May 1st after having another MRI of my lower spine to see if that was the problem and it is not the problem. So now he wants to send me to another Pain Management Clinic which is booked up until September. I am so exhausted and mad. I cannot seem to find anyone who knows how I feel. So I understand this mother's position greatly.

I can't imagine going that long with shortness of breath and no diagnosis. However, I just want to put out there what I was just diagnosed with--Addison's Disease. It is adrenal insufficiency and is fairly rare. I presented to the ER with primarily shortness of breath, along with low BP and high heart rate and pain in my legs and back. It took the ER doctor 20 hours to figure out to test for it, then, bingo, that was it. Just a suggestion.

I 100% agree with Ann above, it was my first and only thought, she needs a GOOD Chiropractor and nothing else. She no doubt has alot of vertebral subluxation. 6-8 months of corrective treatment and she'll be in good shape. So many times I've read how the medical community gives up on a person(I realize they're not giving up here) and chiropractic care gets to the problem, which is short circuits in the nervous system. Two years????? How pathetic!

This girls mother should find and then take her daughter to a Wellness Chiropractor immediately! I'll bet the nerves in her spine are subluxated. I have seen amazing recoveries from breathing issues and other ailments that cannot be treated by a conventional doctor.

I had the same symptons no one was able to cure when I was 19. The headaches were so bad that I had to drop out of college. Doctors performed cat scans, MRIs, and blood tests and got no answers. I eventually sought the help of a chiroporactor who discovered I had food allergies. He adjusted me and my diet. My headaches were gone within 2 weeks and I was back to school/college the next semester. I hope Hanna and her mother are able to find some relief as well.
