I'm sick and tired of people stereotyping poland and her drinking problem. In fact, according to "Organization for Economic Co-Operation and Development", Poland is not even on the list of 15 of the Wrold's Hardest Drinkers"

Give me a break.

This mother is a prime example of why abortion is legal. I bet as a baby, this woman was the pro-abortion poster child. If this woman was a dog, her mother would have eaten her shortly after birth knowing that she would be a tard. What is the age for abortion? Would they make an exception and let us abort this mom and save the baby? I would like to go to poland and give her a good case of shaken mama syndrome.

Debbie, I am sorry that your adopted child suffers. I know this story must have been heartbreaking to read, given what you see on a day to day basis. My regards to you and your for being so brave and carign and giving that child a good life.

I find it improper for any mother to get drunk during pregnancy (moreso, at childbirth). But in this case, in the absence of a lot of information/data, i cannot render real judgment. Did she drink deliberately? Is she schooled? educated enough to know the consequences? Is this her first or nth child? if it is her 1st, and she did not have the proper preparation, pre-natal, etc. could she be so unknowlegeable? She could have been so ill-advised..... There are lots of things to know behind this article. An abrupt decision to separate mother from child by putting the mother behind bars may not really work. It might even do more harm than good Right now, we are all "stoning a sinner". Why not investigate the circumstances surrounding :the case then act accordingly; see the family, etc....... then monitor both mother and child..... We talk of charity but charity embraces all .... the good and the bad .... in this case both baby and the mother. I am pro-life; I would "condemn" any act that would harm a baby, most especially, and this conviction does include adults as well. A very close monitoring is due the baby; she needs extra attention to see her development. This mother needs reform, over and above any punishment due as investigations may warrant.
SEE : gather sufficient information
JUDGE : weigh the data/information
ACT : where there is maximum benefit to the people concerned as well as the public in general.

Thanks a lot for this opportunity to say something about the case. I would like to be apprised of the developments of the case.

What in the world is wrong with people? It's sad when people mess up their own lives but then they mess up an unborn fetus' life before they even have a shot to mess their life themselves.

This world is so unfair. I am only 32 years old and had to have a hystercomy 6 months ago. I do have a 8 year old but I am seeing and plan on marrying a man that has no childern. We were going to have one after we were married but that choice has been taken away from us due to medical reasons...yet some careless idiot like this still has a opportunity to have childern.

In regards to Stephanie saying that her doctor recommended 1 or 2 glasses of wine daily for kidney stones...get a new doctor....according to Mayo Clinic which is an authority on kidney stones...For people with a history of kidney stones, doctors usually recommend passing at least 2.5 quarts (2.3 liters) of urine a day. To do this, you'll need to drink about 14 cups (3.3 liters) of fluids every day — and even more if you live in a hot, dry climate.

What should you drink? Water is best. Include a glass of lemonade every day, too. Make your own with real lemons, or use a liquid or frozen concentrate, but avoid powdered lemonade mixes. Lemonade increases the levels of citrate in your urine, and citrate helps prevent stone formation.

I completely agree with those of you whom said this woman does not deserve to have children.

I just recently had my first child and I cannot imagine doing ANYTHING that would put him remotely in harms way...The whole time I was pregnant I did not drink or put anything in my body that would potentially harm my son. He's 4 months old now and I STILL don't do those things.

This is happening all too often...people drinking while pregnant, forcing their babies to smoke weed, or whatever crazy things you see on the internet anymore.

Come on people...you learn in 6th grade health class what Fetal Alcohol Syndrome is! Wake up!

To Typical Leftist - The child's body is not yours so you shouldn't get to decide on whether they live or die or get druk or whatever. You can hurt yourself all you want if you want to be stupid, but don't hurt an innocent child (did I mention the child's body is NOT yours).

To everyone who is talking about the legal limit of blood alcohol for driving, the purpose is to show exactly how much alcohol was in this little baby's body. They are not morons, they know the baby can't drive, they are just trying to get a point across.

Some people have become very good at ignoring their sense of right and wrong.
