Woman, 47, Naturally Conceives Triplets
Janelle Perry, a grandmother from Queensland, Australia, has given birth to naturally conceived triplet boys in a ‘one-in-a-million’ delivery at Brisbane’s Mater Mothers’ Hospital.
Janelle and husband Robert’s tiny trio - Cooper, Kyle and Jordan - were born at 34 weeks’ gestation by caesarean section last week.
Doctors are “99.9 percent certain” the boys are identical. Perry, who turns 47 next week, now has eight children. She said she is adamant that is enough.Perry has four children in their 20s from a previous marriage, a daughter, Rebecca, 4, with Robert, and two grandchildren.
The Perrys, of Logan, south of Brisbane, sold all their baby things last October after trying unsuccessfully for two years to have more children.

First of all, “Granny” isn’t a term I’d use to describe a 47 year old. Sure she may be a grandmother, but so can a 35 year old. I’m 44 and I have a 3 year old, an 8 year old and a 13 year old. We 40-somethings were raised with better medical care, vitamins, fortified milk and cereals, etc, than our parents so I’m not surprised that our fertility has lengthened with healthier, more viable eggs. I have numerous friends who became first time moms or added to their families in their 40’s. She’ll do great, the kids will do great. There’s a grand possibility that she and her husband will live well into their 70’s and 80’s and these triplets will likely have kids of their own by then. Sure it’s a little tougher physically to get out of bed in the middle of the night or get off the floor from playing, but kids can keep you young too. Plus 40’s the new 30, right?!! I say congrats!!
God bless you! I pray that many would come forward and bless them with baby things that are so needed. The Lord has plans for all of them. I kinda understand…having my last baby at 40 and then becoming a Grandmother just 3 yrs later. Congratulations! It will be tough but oh so worth it. Love the fact that your daughter knew about her brothers coming. May the Lord continue to bless you abuntantly. Love from the USA (Eastcoast), Mary Ann, Byron & Hannah
Congratulations!!! What a blessing. I had given up also, and was blessed with twins. God has a plan for your family! Advice is to grab even those 5 minute cat naps (they will help).
Many blessings on you and your wonderful family!
I think that it is wonderful!! As long as anybody can support and love their own children, it is wonderful to have them!! God bless you woman!

If this was a Hollywood tart you certainly wouldn’t have called her a “granny” at 47. The double standard between the real world and how you treat the “Pop Tarts” is ridiculous.
Congratulations to the new mother! Wonderful experience. Glad she is a grandmother and that her children are following in her footsteps.
I totally agree with Chris. I wished I had guts to become pregnant now at 47, I get scared just thinking about it, but I give a whole bunch of credit to Janelle&Robert and Chris, and so many other women so willing to do so. We are definetely living longer and healthier lives anymore. I wish Janelle, Robert and the triplets all the best. Cheers!
I’m with you ChrisCross. “Natural” triplets are always quite rare-but getting pregnant at 46 and delivering healthy babies at 47 is hardly newsworthy. We have two beautiful, healthy boys, both “naturally” (and quite easily I might add) conceived, both born after I turned 40. And MY grandmother gave birth to her youngest three children after she turned 40 back in the 1930’s-including my mom. PS, she had 10 kids altogether. The more the merrier! Congratulations Perry family!
let the new mommy w/ triplets way to go at 47 ….this s the age i am at now josh darnit i wish i was in ur shoes congrats to the whole family.
Congrats!!! Children are a blessing from the Lord….enjoy your new gifts=)
God Bless you - It is so good to know that families out there are open to children. I have many friends who had there children in their 40’s. My father-in-laws mother had him when she was 45 - he weighted 13 pounds and she had him at home. That was in 1935. Big families are trying to make a come back and I think its great.
I’m 47 years YOUNG, married and mother of three beautiful daughters, ages 26 (still unmarried), 19 and 17. My youngest will be a senior in HS this fall and will be following her sister to college next year so the last thing I want at this point in my life is to relive the years of chasing little ones around the house, and that includes grandchildren at least for now.
I’m glad I had my children at a young age and look forward to the next few years of traveling and being carefree with my husband as we empty our nest, and I want to enjoy my daughters a little longer before they get married and start families of their own.
Good luck to this 47 year old new mom and all of her brood; better her than me!
Naturally conceived babies after 40 are not common and after 45 are very rare. Fertility starts to drastically decline after age 35. All these celebrities popping out babies in their 40’s are not having miracle babies they are having expensive fertility treatments whether they want to admit it or not.
Anyway congratulations to her it IS a miracle.
Congratulations to the mom & dad - my first child was born when I was 28, 5 wks preemie by Caesarean; my 2nd child was born 17 years later at age 45 - full-term, vaginally and weighed 8#13oz. My advice - rest at every opportunity - it was tough enough with just one and at the time I was a hiker/backpacker in good shape. Also, keep a close eye on your weight - it became so easy to add the pounds with “oh, he’s still nursing”. He’s now a strappy 9 yr. old getting straight A’s, and I’m out of energy and 60# overweight. He’s the joy of our lives though and ‘keeping us young’ LOL.
Fantastic!
What a wonderful blessing. I am also an identical triplet boy (we are now 51) born without fertility medicine.
When I was two, my parents had another boy. When he was brougt home I asked, “where are his brothers? Who will he play with.” A question I will never have to ask about Cooper, Kyle and Jordan.
Awesome! I am so jealous! I have 5 daughters and would absolutely love to have another child. I am 44 and don’t know at this age if it would even be possible.
