Whats so weird about it? CREATING that child (hopefully) involve an orgasm. It definately involved sex. I currently use sexual stimulation to deal with pain. I have a chronic pain disease, and honestly, even when I dont feel sexual, my husband will get me aroused, because the endorphin response is better than Vicodin.

I guess the real question.. why is this idea so taboo?

Really...I'm with Jim on this one. It's just...disturbing I think is the word I would use. I mean sure I could understand that maybe the body or head of the baby stimulates a certain area and shazaam...but doing it on purpose is weird. I mean after watching my wife give birth the first thing I did after leaving the room was attempt to forget the images that had just been burned into my mind so that I could actaully look at the vagina as a sex organ again...not a chance I would want to "stimulate" her during the actual birthing process...you could your kid's eye out lol.

I'm sorry but having an orgasm during childbirth on purpose is disgusting. Your childs involved and that's why it's wierd. I'm absolutely a free thinker when it comes to sexuality but this is just too much. Birthgasms? Really Sexpert? Birthgasms? That's messed up.

The thought of being sexually stimulated during childbirth is just odd. The last thing I wanted while laboring is for someone to touch me. This article is disgusting!

Orgasmic Birth is a reality. The head does hit the g-spot on the way out. Not only that, the body, in a drug free birth, produces natural hormones that increase orgasmic ability. Women who give birth without drugs naturally have an ecstatic experience. This is the best natural drug-free high that exists on the planet. The idea of inducing an orgasm during contractions is interesting but not necessary. Best wishes, G

Why does everything have to be about sexual pleasure? For crying out loud! giving birth is an amazing experience - why do people feel they have to pursue something sexual to inhance it?

In adding to your conversation on orgasm during childbirth, doula Debra Pascali-Bonaro has directed a film on that subject called "Orgasmic Birth." After 26 years of being a doula, Ms. Pascali-Bonaro witnessed so many ecstatic births she decided to make the documentary film. It's being feted worldwide now. More info on it can be found at www.orgasmicbirth.com.
