Did anyone hear of thermal aging? Recent evidences indicate that heat may be one of the environmental factors to induce premature skin aging (thermal skin aging). One of the things that is recommended by Dr. Sadick in this article is IPL treatments for fresher looking skin. People should be made aware that there are risks involved with these treatments and permanent side effects when something goes wrong. Scarring (it's in the texture), fat loss, loss of skin elasticity, and thermal aging. This happened to me while I was being treated for rosacea with the dye pulsed laser. I am not the only one with these side effects. Noone knows what the long term effects are of these light treatments. Just like the sun the heat of these procedures will damage your skin. It will accelerate your skin's aging process. See "Thermal Aging: A new concept of skin aging in the Journal of Dermatological Science; by Jin Young Seo, Jin Ho Chung; Department of Dermatology, Seoul National University College of Medicine, Seoul, South Korea; Laboratory of Cutaneous Aging Research, Clinical Research Institute, Seoul National University Hospital, Seoul, South Korea; Institute of Dermatological Science, Seoul National University, Soul, South Korea.
People should be made aware of these side effects before going ahead with these procedures.
