What a non-story. Why is obama referred to as “black” when he is as much white as he his black? And, his black father abandoned him as a toddler, and he was raised by his white mother and white grandparents? Speaking of his grandmother who raised him, she lay on her deathbed in Hawaii while he was dancing on the Ellen Degeneres show. After all she did for him it took him 4 days to get there to see her (hopefully) before she died. I’m not proud of him and his behavior. I hope that now, we never have to hear about the first african american “anything” anymore. With the first black president, we can now put the whole civil rights issue behind us. I was watching the BCS championship earlier this month, and they said… “that ref is the first black head ref for the BCS championship!” and it got me thinking… is the ref even aware of it? What a great joy – to bring a life into the world! I am the fortunate mother of 2 C-section children (both because I was unable to deliver naturally). We chose our daughter’s date (a Friday) in conjunction with the doctor, and because we didn’t want her born on Sept. 11th. My due date was 9-9. It is fortunate that they chose life. I hope Pres. Obama will respect the founding American ideals of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness by upholding the sanctity of LIFE, giving all Americans the LIBERTY to maintain our individual rights, and allowing all citizens to PURSUE HAPPINESS, without retribution or unfair taxation if that PURSUIT includes a desire to get out of poverty and obtain a family position of comfortable middle-class or, heaven-forbid, wealth.

This couple had the choice to have their daughter on this historic day. Personally, I don’t care what day they had her on. This is what made them “happy.” What worries me is the many aborted little people(and yes, they are human beings from the moment of conception) that don’t have a “choice” about their life.

I’m proud to be an American today. Not because we have a new African American president. That is a historical achievement. I’m proud to live in a country where it is even a possibility that our Commander in Chief would be a person of color.

I often wonder why anyone would want to be a president? Is it ego? is it to make the world a better place? I’m sure it’s not the money. Pres Obama doesn’t need any more money. I honestly think he was such a long shot that even Obama is in shock that he won the election. I think he is going to be in absolute shock at the unbelievable work load he is about to encounter. But I do wish him well and I ask that on this day, a day of celebration for every American in the world, that we put aside our partisan political bickering and be thankful we are all Americans. I am not sure this is really a news worthy report. It is a private decision when to schedule a C-section. One made between the doctor and the parents. If it is importnat to them to have their daughter born on his inauguration, then so be it but I do not think it is news worthy.

It is imporant for all Americans to embrace the new President because he is our president. Mo Voter, there are varying medical opinions on the concept of scheduling births. It’s a very common practice in most major hospitals, and many practicing professionals believe that no measurable issues arrise when a to-term child is delivered via C-section. Do I personally agree with the idea, no not really, but the idea of calling someone stupid over an idea that has no effect on you or yours is really lame. Now to comment on the idea of scheduling your daughter’s birth on a day that hasn’t been determined as “great” by any other fact then the historic event itself is taking a bit of a chance. It’s great that Obama is not “white” or “black” etc…that point can be debated all day…but he could totally fall flat on his face, or do something horrible, and then their daughters birthday will not be as much a gift as they intended. Everyone is treating our new Pres like a celebrity and in some cases a god. He’s our President. I voted for the other guy, but I wish him the best. I wish people would stop looking at the racial issues though and look at other things. He stated the same thing I have always asked – why do people have to be called African-Americian, Asian-American, etc. If you are born in America, then you are American…regardless of your family heritage. I feel that people need to stop referencing President Obama as Africian-American because is actually bi-racial. Maybe we need to call our next President a White American, or a Hispanic-American. My family is Indian and German so am I an Indian-German-American? Until we all start believing that we are American’s and stop the separations, then racism will never die.

I voted for President Obama but only because I was ready for a change…and Hillary didn’t get the nomination.

So sad! My father was born on the day Herbert Hoover was elected President…I hear that over and over! He tells many, many people he meets. Why would anyone choose to do that to their child no matter how wonderful they thought that day was? That child’s birthday will always be overshadowed by yesterday’s historic event.

What an amazing statement that you have voted for Obama, because of the “opinions and attitudes” of the Republican party. I don’t ever remember the Republican party BOOing a president and his wife during an inaugaration like YOUR superior party did to President and Mrs. Bush yesterday. I don’t ever remember the Republican party trashing the White House and It is your President Obama who believes it is perfectly legal to allow a baby is born alive during an abortion, to be left to die, with no care provided. Shame on you for voting for him. He has more respect for terrorists!!! Nice guy to lead the country!

I’m serious people I don’t see this person doing anything good. Some of you people sit there and say “oh I’ll die for Obama”. Ya’ll think he’s the messiah.
Tell me this. Would the messiah be for killing babies or for socialism? Huh, would he?

If Heritage was important, wouldn’t we be celebrating the first Arabic American President. He’s a sell out and Americans will wake up soon enough. Enjoy your honeymoon Obama, it will be over very quickly.

It is you bitter people in America that make the country so bad. Suck it up & quit complaining.

All this hype only shows that liberals control the media, which is something they’ve denied for years – now proven true. It also shows that despite the fact that blacks have advanced and that 99.9% of whites now look at others based on their character and not their skin color, blacks are still looking at only skin color. If we had truly reached the dream that Dr. King had long ago, we would not be hearing over and over how “magical” it is that a black man can become president. Blacks have been moving up in society for over 40 years, and there has been nothing to hold them back except themselves. The longer black people listen to the race-baiting that their leaders spew, the longer they will be held back.

To hear black friends who call themselves Christian say they voted for this man tells me either A) they are not Christian but only think they are, or B) they are very naive Christians who don’t know their Bible and must go to a church that confuses being proud of being black with knowing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Sad, when it’s black babies who will be killed in much greater numbers than white. And sad while their people are listening to the stories of how held down they are, which keeps them from grasping life by the reins and climbing up to where they want to be.

The next four years will be the most pitiful in our nation’s history, and it has nothing to do with having a black president – it has to do with his lack of experience and his radical agenda.
