So, it is okay to kill a baby before it is born, but as soon as it comes out and it is killed, that isn’t okay? What do pro-abortionist think happens between the time a baby is in the womb and is born? Do they think on the way it picks up its soul?

While we are debating a spending bill, little children are tossed in the trash bins of our nation. The tenor of the reports is about removing credentials and fines. What with that? Where are the criminal charges? If our culture doesn’t change its ways, it won’t be long until we are on the trash heap of failed nations.

This is more disgusting than the idiot in CA having 8 babies, not married, living with her parents and 6 other children, no husband, etc. There isn’t a day that goes by you don’t read about parents killing their children. This is no different. That baby could have lived. Why didn’t she give it up for adoption? There are millions of Americans that would have taken that baby and given her a wonderful life…. in fact, they would have paid all her medical expenses and most pro-
bably paid her a fee. The poor little baby is better off, at least she is in heaven with Jesus, and her 18 yr old mother, and the owner of the clinic, will be on the fast track to hell!!! May they both rot!!!!

Why the outrage? Had the baby been killed inside the mother it would have been business as usual. But since the baby tasted air the cruelty shown to him/her produces outrage. Where is the outrage for all of the babies murdered every year before they can be allowed to enter into this world? Where is the outrage over a woman being able to legally seek abortion at 23 weeks? Our society, in it’s ignorance and hardness of heart, has drawn a ridiculous line between being inside and outside of the womb, as if the baby doesn’t start living until he or she breathes air. Yet we call ourselves intelligent and civilized.

This woman is outraged and suing, but she would have had no problem had the baby been murdered inside of her. Now there is all of the sudden pain and suffering are involved. But hey, we give woman choices right. After the doc takes care of her “little problem” she can go right back to the club as if nothing happened. “Take his license away”??? What are you talking about, charge him and everyone involved, including the mother, with murder! That child was born alive, she has the same rights as anyone else, including the right to life at that point (and I would argue before then). This article refers the “severe lack of proper medical care provided to a young woman.” I ask, what about the medical care to the young child that was thrown away in a hazard bag? I consider myself pro-abortion in certain cases. The actions of that so called doctor not only warrant the permanent revocation of his license in any US state and territory, Belkis Gonzales should face murder charges.

This case only provides yet another example to those who wish to over turn Roe vs Wade. Prosecuting these two clinic operators will send the message that conducting an abortion in an illegal way has consquences. Such places should know that the Roe vs Wade case is still on fragile ground with each administration.

Actually, Doc, according to Public Law 107-207, someone needs to be charged with murder.

I’m not sure why this clinic’s action surprises people on both sides of the abortion issue. Look for things to get even worse with Obama’s Freedom Of Choice Act, which will allow babies who are born alive due to botched up late term abortions, to be set aside without any medical care or nourishment and left to die (most of these babies have no medical problems and most of the ones that do, have things like cleft palates, club feet, things that are correctable, still they are murdered in the most cruel and inhuman way. In our determination to preserve “reproductive rights” we’ve forgotten that we are talking about a living human being.

The only difference between the abortion and throwing this baby into the trash is that the baby was not in the womb when the action happened. How hypocritical that abortion supporters would denouce this action and not denouce the killing of the baby in the womb which was goin to happen anyway.

Dr Manny does not go far enough. This is an example of the murder that goes on every day in abortion clinics. It is very probable that most times, the baby is killed in utero and then born dead afterwards. This time, the baby lived and was killed outside of the mother. Abortion is murder. End of story. Please close all abortion clinics and put counselling/adoption clinics in their place. A social safety net for pregnant women who want to give up their children after they are born needs to be put in place.

I agree, this is a terrible story. But let me get this straight. She wanted the baby murdered while it was still in the womb. And was traumatized because the baby was murdered outside the womb. She supposedly was “moved” by the sight of this little human being, outside the womb and gave it a name. Was this poor baby not a human being while inside the womb? She was upset that the baby was thrown in the trash. After the abortion, where did she think they were going to put the baby. Women get these abortions but want the procedure “sanitized” so they don’t actually know how their child is being murdered. This woman has no right to sue over the loss of her child, it was her intention from the very beginning to kill the baby. She could sue over the lack of medical care I suppose. Our president supported and spoke out and voted for a bill in Ill. that would have made precisely what occurred in Florida completely legal.
It was premised on categorizing a baby, just like this one,
as not a “person” under the constitution, and therefore not protected by

The raw irony is that this was precisely the legal premise that Justice Taney
used in his Dred Scott decision to justify slavery in the US – that anyone
of African American descent was not a person under the constitution.
I am sure our learned constitutional scholar was aware of this.

My view of abortion: 1st trimester — it is an unfortunate extension of birth control and has to be permitted. That will always be reality I think. Early 2nd trimester — still permissible but should be reserved for exceptional circumstances as determined by the mother and her doctor. At this stage the procedure already presents medical risks to the mother. Late 2nd trimester – 3rd trimester (viability) — murder, plain and simple. I don’t see any difference between terminating the life of a viable baby inside the mother compared to immediately outside the mother. It is a form of homicide to me either way and it is unbelievable to me that many view this as a “radical” pro-life perspective.

The doctor should not only lose his license in this case but should be charged with negligent homicide. He probably won’t get any severe punishment but it would deter him and others from considering this type of disgusting conduct in the future.

Is not the first time and will not be the last one. A lot of people are making lots of money in this business. And that’s what it is for them: business. For many who seek abortion is not a big deal; it’s legal and morality plays no part on their decision. So sad that this nation has come to accept abortion as a great service to women’s rights. Why is my right tossed aside but the legal right to murder is so passionately defended? That little girl will live with two emotional traumas for the rest of her life. I am tired of hearing “women’s rights” used interchangeably with abortion rights. Of course “womens rights” should be protected but they should also be better defined. A woman should have the same right to education as a man, the right to equal pay for an equal job, the right to work in a harassment free environment, the right to live in a country that takes sexual abuse seriously and protects her from it, a right to choose with whom she has sex and the right to choose to accept the consequences of her actions. No one, man or woman, should have the right to kill a child. Of course, we’ve all heard the “stay out of my womb” or “it’s my body” arguments. They simply do not hold water with me. An unborn child is a human being – yes, during pregnancy it is growing within its mother’s body – but it is a separate entity and deserves to be treated as such.

So many of us are on the fence about this issue. We want to say that we are personally opposed to abortion but understand that it may be ok, or even necessary for others. I think anybody prepared to perform an abortion is ruthless and this can be expected of them. I am trying to confirm the legitimacy of a claim that Obama voted to abstain from the bill to give medical/respite care to a still alive child who survived the abortion procedure, not once, not twice, but three times, not just at the IL state level but on the federal level as well. Both the mother and the one who tossed the baby should be tried for murder. First the girl went there to allow someone to kill her living fetus, but instead it was a living child that was murdered. And now she is trying to sue? For what? She is just as guilty. If the baby was born alive and she had a change of heart why didn’t she take the baby to a hospital or stop the other person from trashing her child? When I was pregnant with my daughter, I went into premature labor at 21 weeks…her chances of surviving (8 yrs ago) were about 40%. they gave me meds and put me on bedrest…14 weeks later I gave birth to a beautiful healthy little girl (5lbs 6oz)

I am amazed at the sudden outrage over this situation in Florida. Did the light finally come on that people are guilty of murdering babies. It is no different than what King Obama has done in signing off on late term abortions, (FOC), where the infant is sometimes born alive and no one is allowed to hold, feed or otherwise offer any life care to the infant and it is allowed to die a slow death, cold and alone. If you were caught treating a dog like that you would end up in jail. This is such a sad and sick story. But just in case some of you don’t know what “late term” abortion is, it’s not much different from what the clinic owner did. If a woman “chooses” to kill her baby in a “late term” abortion, all she has to do is go to any one of our many free clinics. They’ll give her meds to get the “process” started. When the doctor’s ready, he delivers all but the head of the baby, then he pierces the back of the babies neck with a medical suctioning device that suck out the baby’s brains, once that is complete, he delivers the rest of the baby, dead of course, and this is how a “late term” abortion is done. Plain and simple murder.

I agree that Dr. Pierre Jean-Jacque Renelique should not only loose his license to practice medicine but that he and his employee should also be prosecuted for murder. To make a mistake is forgivable, but to destroy a little baby’s life to cover it up is unconscionable.

Revoke his license?!! What about bring him up on murder charges!!

I am now 31 weeks pregnant with my second pregnancy. My first ended last April at 6 weeks when I had a miscarriage. It was the most excruciating experience of my life, emotionally and physically. When I became pregnant again a few months later, I was closely monitored early to avoid a second miscarriage. At 7 1/2 weeks, I not only SAW but HEARD my baby’s heartbeat on a standard ultrasound. My very first thought was this – Nobody can EVER convince me this is not a life. By 20 weeks, the kicking was impossible to ignore, and at 23 weeks it was a constant reminder of the life inside me.

I really, truly hope this haunts her the rest of her life, in a way that makes her rethink the consequences of every decision she makes. I don’t mean this in a ‘burn in Hell’ kind of way, but in a way that will make her respect and appreciate the miracle of life.

These are the same youth that we shake our heads at when they walk in a liquor store and blow the owners head off for the money in the register. How can our government tell them that life is important and allow what this young lady knows happened to her baby to happen “legally?”

Revoking the license is nothing! What about bringing them up on murder charges!?

Funny, the way you describe these clinics reminds me of the way abortions used to be, before they became “legal”.

I don’t understand the outrage about this! what is the difference in what happened and this:
A medical professional will induce a breech (feet first) delivery with forceps. The baby will be partially birthed, legs, arms, and torso of the baby delivered…everything but the head. (At this point, the baby is kicking his/her legs and flailing his/her arms…VERY MUCH ALIVE.) The back of the baby’s skull is punctured with a scissors-like instrument and a suction device is inserted. The power of the suction sucks out all the content in the baby’s skull and ultimately causes the skull to collapse in on itself. The baby is now deceased, and can be delivered more easily as the head is smaller.

Technically this isn’t infanticide, because the baby is ‘dead’ before full delivery…but come on…

Shocked! I’m very disturbed by this story. Truth known, this is one in many same-like situations. There needs to be more investigations into these so-called clinics. Why can’t we protect the poorest of the poor (the babies) who have no one protecting them. We call ourselves the arm of justice in the world. Woe to the country who destroys the #1 resource they have….life!

Why should anyone in this story be charged with murder?!? The mother got what she paid for, and the clinic was doing its job by ending a pregnancy. Why does it make a difference that the baby was killed outside the womb? Why does it matter that the baby had taken a breath of air rather than the amniotic fluid it was breathing inside the womb? So, would it have been better if the doctor had punctured the baby’s skull and sucked out her brain with a vacuum? Because that’s what would have happened if the doctor had shown up on time. Do you think the baby doesn’t feel pain during this “procedure”? Why are any of you shocked and outraged by this? This goes on every single day all over the country. The only reason the “mother” is upset now is because she had to SEE the beautiful little girl that she was about to MURDER. As long as it’s just a “procedure” she didn’t have to think about what she was really doing.

I do think the doctor’s license should be revoked, because of negligence. But other than that, I don’t believe any charges can be filed. Abortions are legal, and that’s all this was.

Doesn’t life teach you that life comes from life? Nothing is reproduced from the dead.
Anything birthed and not living is called a “miscarriage”… life’s natural process.
To kill in the womb or outside of the womb is killing, either way. Think about it…..

This is eerily similar to an account I heard on the radio by a woman named Angele. Some one made a movie about it called 22 weeks.

As I read this pitiful story I wondered aloud how long it would take for someone to throw a president in the mix..any president. That’s sad.

This problem has been around a lot longer than ANY sitting president and needs to be solved in the home and within a strong cultured society. But some of us continue to toss around political labels and that ‘Look who you voted for, we knew he would do this mentality’ while our world falls down around us. How stupid.

This is just one more indicator of the unraveling of our way of life and some of us are to busy throwing stones and blaming people to see it. It does not matter who is at the top, nothing will change until every day people, like all of you reading this, get fed up and force our leaders to hear us and do the right thing.

I am not sure what the big deal is. If it is okay to suck baby parts into a suction cannister during a well-performed abortion, why the problem about tossing a baby in the trash who survives a botched abortion? If fact, if I recall correctly, just a few short months ago, then-Senator Obama voted in favor of letting babies such as the trashed one die without medical intervention.

All this story does is stir up a temptest in the proverbial teapot. Let them die, and decrease the surplus poplulation.

While I agree that abortion is a horrific “procedure” that takes away the life of a human being, the resentment being shown this mother is also shameful. No woman desires an abortion for its own sake. The confusion and distress of a pregnancy in her circumstance deserves consideration. While she did make this choice, no one can knows the possible lack of support or education that she recieved when contemplating what to do. Both children AND women deserve better than abortion, and that’s why people must defend them both.

Our culture, education system, health system, government, and the silence of our apathetic voices has made abortion a viable option for women in difficult situations. They deserve better, and we fail to recognize that when we criminalize women who have suffered abortions. These mothers (and fathers for that matter) endure pain as a result of this choice, and our compassion must extend to them, too.

We cannot wait for the government to end this killing. It must begin with our work in education and activism. Abortion is a legal reality, but to end it, the hearts and minds of our country must believe it is wrong.

Let’s Clarify – 23 weeks is not considered Late Term. It wouldn’t matter anyway Late Term Abortions are perfectly legal in every state. And so what ? It still amazes me that a person can be charged with 2 murders after killing a pregnant woman, but abortions are legal. When in fact the murderer just robbed the woman of her choice that’s all. I’m an RN with over 20 years’ experience ( none in abortion clinics), and this news story is upsetting to me.
There were grievous wrongs committed on many levels. FACTS:
1) A woman should know she’s pregnant in the first trimester. A safe, inexpensive legal abortion could have been done at a reputable clinic long before she ” decided”.
2) A clinic run by a doctor with this many problems should have been shut down long before this death in 2006. I wonder if it and the other one Ms. Williams patronized are still operable? If so, close them.
3) Licensed personnel should have been present when the clinic opened every day who were trained in emergency delivery, CPR resuscitation and calling 911 for emergency transport. The clinic was responsible for planning for medical emergencies for the women and especially for live births since they chose to do late term abortions.
4) Both the clinic worker ( license status unclear except that she was not an MD) who trashed a breathing neonate and the doctor are culpable for negligent homicide.
5) It matters not what Ms. Williams wanted or wants. The facts of the case are without emotion or political bias. The facts are that a woman with a fetus near viability was allowed to labor for hours without an MD in attendance. A live birth ensued, because there was air in the lung cells on autopsy. This makes the case a homicide. NOT A CIVIL SUIT!
God help the USA.

Dr. Manny’s comments imply that the death of this baby happened because of the doctor’s incompetance or some glitch in the medical procedure. Like the doctor’s history of malpractice and the way he practices is what killed this baby and caused such a reactin from the community. BE HONEST -what happened here is no different thant what they like to call ‘partial birth abortion’. the baby is alive. the doctor or whomever is conducting the procedure, licensed properly or not, is then killed or left to die. Mr. Obama says this is ok too.
Why are people who are normally for ‘choice’ and for abortion outraged and upset by this situation. it is exactly what all abortions are, murder.

This is horrible. What really bothers me is that everyone is up in arms because this poor baby was just “tossed in the garbage” and “had a slim chance to survive” and questions if it’s murder. But if the doctor had been there and killed the baby a second before it was born, then it was a legitimate abortion? Does that make sense? It’s either a baby, or it’s not. This woman waited 23 weeks to decided she didn’t want the baby and can pay a doctor to kill it instead of giving to a family that can’t have children and that’s her choice, but the doctor is late and that same “tissue” she was going to allow killed dies seconds later and it’s murder? Woman have many choices. She can choose whether or not to have sex- with the obvious exception of rape. She can choose whether or not to use protection. She can choose to raise her child, choose another family to raise her child or leave her child with a hospital worker and let them choose a family for the child. Like or not, having an abortion when the fetus is the size of a peanut is her choice. But having the baby killed that’s big enough to live outside the womb is not a choice. It’s murder. If a woman had a baby at 23 weeks and someone came in and killed the baby, it would be in every newspaper as a terrible tragedy and murder. I just don’t understand the double standard. At 23 weeks a baby has it’s little fingers and toes and can recognize it’s mommy’s voice. It can feel pain. It is a girl or boy. It’s a baby.

How about putting him in prison while they are at it? And the person who cut the cord also! If that young girl had given birth in a hotel room or at school and thrown the baby in the trash she would be going to jail! Why are these people any different? Our children are thrown in the trash and then we wonder why people have no respect for life! Horrible beyond words!

I cannot understand why this doctor and whatever staff was assisting him are not being charged with murder. This is simply the worst case I have read about in many years.

Of course this should happen. Why on earth not? A few moments before birth this child was “unwanted tissue,” and had the good abortion doctor’s golf game, third martini or traffic problems not intervened it was scheduled to end up in the same trash bag anyway. Completely legal, and thoroughly rationalized by the depraved proponents of this very practice.

As most pet owners eventually find out, part of pet ownership is euthanizing them when the time comes. When my veterinarian euthanizes a pet, he delivers a sedative before the lethal injection. The pet dies while lying on a table being stroked. After one pet’s death, as I was getting in my car, I saw through the window the vet tech carrying the body of my cat to the room with the freezer in it. She was walking slowly with the cat’s body cradled gently in her arms. That is respect for life, and we even give that respect to our pets.

This little baby was also euthanized, in a way. But she was given no sedative, wasn’t held or comforted, and she was stuffed in a trash bag with the afterbirth, and allowed to die in the garbage.

We treat our animals better than this!

I don’t agree with abortion for myself but I agree that there are times that it may happen per se. From what I have read everyone has jumped to the conclusion that this 18 year old was sane, healthy, and the baby came about in a “normal way” No one seems to have asked if she was raped, if she is mentally unable to care for it, if it was incest, if she would have died if the kid was born full term. I can’t judge due to not knowing the whole story. I also can’t judge because there is only one person that can judge us in the end and it will not be my peers.

The AP headline “Florida Clinic Botched Abortion…” is a lie in itself. The woman came to the clinic expecting an abortion, but she never got it. The baby was before the doctor was there. It was not “botched.” She gave birth, and they murdered the baby — and who would dare say it was not a baby — she had air in her lungs. I also liked how AP said “it” was tossed in the trash. No, she, the little baby, was dumped in a plastic bag and left to die in a trash can. What monsters. Liberals are monsters, and liberalism is montrous. When considering the many many people wanting to have children and cannot…when considering the many people wanting and willing to adopt, this story makes me both sad and sick. As a recent visitor to a NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) for premature babies, I know that there is a small chance that a 23-week old CAN survive. That “so called” doctor should not only have his license removed, he should be executed for murder.

How do ya’ll feel about the fact that Hitler banned abortions? He wanted more of his “pure” race to kill off the others (Jews, Gypsys Catholics and others.. anyone who wasn’t white and blond..) Then there’s the morning after pill and certain types of IUD..

If this “young mother” (what a joke) had accomplished what she went to the clinic to do, is there anyone out there who thinks that would have made the news? Why then, pray tell, is this news?????? Everyone including the “mother”, need to be put in jail for murder. I had my first born five days after my 18th birthday and it never crossed my mind to abort or give up my son. Before I graduated from high school, one of my school mates had to have an early hysterectomy and will never ever be able to have her own child, it broke her heart, all this at the age of 17. Now you have people who can, don’t realize it is a gift to be able to have a baby and they are killing off babies. Even if the “mother” in this case didn’t want the baby, there are laws now where you can leave the baby at a hospital with no questions. I am in Florida and a mother of 3 (including my fiance’s little girl who I am adopting. I am lost for words. The “mother” wanted the baby dead, well, she got it. She can’t complain. Everyone that was in on this baby’s death, including the “mother”, should be charged with murder. I had my first born when I was 18 years of age. If anything my son gave me the strength to finish high school and go to college. Never did it cross my mind to abort or give away my son. While I was in my last year of high school a class mate at the age of 17 had to get an early hysterectomy, she will never be able to have children of her own, it broke her heart. It is a gift and an honor to be able to have children, so many can’t and here you have the ones that can and don’t want to. There is such thing as birth control. This is exactly why abortion should be illegal. With all the education and contraceptives available today there is no reason why any woman should or would resort to abortion. Statistics have shown that of the women who get pregnant while on contraceptives, the vast majority did not use them properly. Statistics also show that most women have abortions because it is not convenient for them to be pregnant. Abortion in the cases of rape, incest or maternal health make up a very small percentage of all abortions performed. In short, abortion is used most frequently as a method of birth control and family planning. This is exactly what the pro-choice movement wants: free abortion on demand. Why should my tax dollars pay for something that I am vehemently opposed to? Where is my choice to not support this heinous practice? Why is it okay for women to have the right to choose but not okay to expect women to exercise self-control and responsibility? And how can these doctors sleep at night knowing they are breaking the major tenet of their oath: First do no harm?

If this teen mother had been driving to the abortion clinic and a drunk driver hit her and the baby died, The driver would be charged with manslaughter. He would be sent to prison possible for life. It’s quite ironic that she can go into the clinic and have an abortion and its ok. What is wrong with this picture??

Yes, this was murder…but please have mercy on the poor mother. Yes, she choose this, but I am sure will be haunted her entire life. All you women who have gone through the horror of abortion be SILENT NO MORE!!!! Please speak up, help the other women. There is a better way. Just a few more months, and she would have gone through birth naturally. She gave birth…just a little bit earlier. don’t people understand that Late term abortions produce a live fetus. Just because the doctor didnt arrive to perform the procedure herself, doesnt mean the staff wasn’t doing “common practice procedures” by disgarding the fetus in the trash alive or not. THIS IS WHY LATE TERM ABORTIONS SHOULD BE ILLEGAL. Didn’t the state of California just prosecute a man for killing his wife and UNBORN FETUS. I am sorry, but at 20 weeks, a fetus is moving with arms and legs inside that womans body too the point that a person can feel the child. 23 weeks is just too late to take the abortion route in my opinion. Woman know they are pregnant between 6 to 12 weeks, and 12 weeks is really pushing it. There should be no need to allow people to abort so late into the pregnancy. I knew I was pregnant by the 5 th week of gestation on all my preganancies. I could never choose the abortion route personally, but women in certain circumstances, like rape or incest, should have the right to terminate a pregnancy within a humane timeframe before the 12th week.

I believe a young woman of 18 should know well in advance, BEFORE 23 weeks whether or not she wanted to terminate this pregnancy. Sycloria Williams learned the hard way that an abortion at six weeks is the same as an abortion of 23 weeks; an ending of life. It’s a decision she will have to live with for the rest of her life. She might try to believe that other people coerced her into terminating her pregnancy but the decision falls squarely on her shoulders. I don’t know what she expected, but it wasn’t going to be pretty.

That being said, Dr. Pierre Jean-Jacque Renelique and Belkis Gonzalez should be charged with murder. ‘Baby Shanice’ deserved SO much more than what she got. If anything good happens from this tragedy the Clinic and other clinic’s like this will be shut down.

And just to set the record straight, I am not Pro-Life. I believe terminations are sometimes necessary. I do not believe they should be used as contraception however.

They should do more than take away his license. Everyone involved in this horrific situation should be charged with murder. I’m in anguish over this story. What has our country become?

I don’t understand how a few inches down the birth canal can possibly change the moral status of a human being. The truth is, it doesn’t. Whether in the womb or outside the womb murder was committed. Children just like this are being brutally murdered every day.

I found the outrage from the left surprising. If the doctor had been present and done what they were supposed to do, the child would have been killed while inside the mother’s body. This didn’t happen, and the child died outside the mother’s body. Why should this make a difference? Why should travelling a distance of a few inches (the length of her vagina) make any difference?

The only difference between a baby that has just been conceived and a full-term baby living on its own (or an adult, for that matter) is size and degree of development. Every single thing that will be part of that human being is present at the moment of conception – all the DNA from the mother’s egg and the father’s sperm is all there – nothing more is added later. So how can it be more right to kill this human being when it is younger (first trimester) than when it is older (late term)? You can only justify this by claiming that somehow it isn’t really a human being until some arbitrarily chosen point. It goes against the facts, but this view is useful in taking charge of your mistake, so that you’re not “punished with a baby.” But that really blows up when you are forced to look at physical reality of what you are talking about and can no longer deny that this is a baby. Shock and disgust follow. Ugly, isn’t it? Well, murder has never been pretty and killing an innocent human being has always been murder. In the history of the world, many people have been killed because they were declared non-human – millions of babies, Jews in Nazi Germany, African slaves in America, and Tutsis in Rwanda.

As outrageous as this incident is, I’m glad to see it getting press coverage. Maybe it will get some people to think about what is actually happening and they won’t be able to pretend it’s OK anymore. God forgive America.

Our president of “Hope and Change” considers an unwanted baby a burden. He said it in a speech. What do we do when our trash can is burden with garbage? We throw it out. What hope for a life did that little baby have when it was born alive if the most powerful person in USA considers it a burden? I’m confused. Is this only a horrifying case of malpractice because the baby was delivered before the “doctor” had a chance to abort it? Let me get this straight; if the doctor had arrived in time and aborted the baby before the woman went into labor – this would have been okay? Either way a dead baby would have ended up in a plastic bag as “medical refuse.” I’m “shocked and disgusted” and deeply saddened at the state of our quickly, degenerating society.

as a FAR LEFT LIBERAL, I’d like to say that this highlights the problem with our abortion debate. We need to draw a line. We’re so afraid of slippery slopes that we are murdering babies. I’m all for a ban on any abortion after a defined date, say 16 weeks, except in cases of the mothers health, which would need to be signed off on by at least more than one doctor and perhaps a bi-partisan local council. Yes, as a lefty I see that as a lot of red tape for that occasional mother who really does have some surprise medical issue come up at 23 weeks, but that red tape is infinitely less offensive than the murdering of babies. Now, a date- like 16 weeks or something- aught to be set based on evidence as to the development of the fetus. After a certain day for purposes of the law the baby cannot be murdered.

in concert with this effort we need to fund education -fact based, not religious propaganda, to teach women about early term abortion options. This is a rational approach, as opposed to our current spewing of irrational dogma from both sides. Sheesh.

This case is no different than any other abortion at that late stage, other than the baby took in oxygen on her own. Some of those who favor legalized abortion are not affected by this a bit. Others are appalled for two reasons: 1. The baby was ‘alive’ when she died and, 2) She was thrown out unceremoniously. Those who favor legalized abortion and who find this act reprehensible show the impossible argument that the pro-legalized abortion side has. The only way abortion can be legal is if the child is not considered a human being. Is breathing the arbitrary transition to gaining ones humanity? This argument is patently illogical and inane. If not, then why not throw the baby in the trash? She’s not human. One minute before her birth, the mother and clinicians were making preparations to tear the baby’s flesh apart, or otherwise ending her life to ensure she didn’t breathe air before being unceremoniously thrown in the trash. So, that’s where we are as a society. It’s time people realize that the real intent of legalized abortion is not to preserve anyone’s rights, but to rid the world of as many low-income, mostly minority children so we don’t have to subsidize them and/or deal with them when they grow up to become troublesome adults. Check out this clinic and you will find people who are liberal, against the death penalty and believe in late term abortion and probably want to legalize all dope. You know the one where they deliver the bay to within 1-2 seconds of a live birth and then they rip the soft skull open and vacuum out the brains causing an other than instant death.

There is a market for abortions because there are unwanted pregnancies. Educate people and get us back in good moral standing. What is the freaking difference??? Tossing the baby out was a horrible thing to do yes, but KILLING it is okay? I’m not quite sure I see a difference. I am a pretty open minded person and thank God I have never been in the position to have to choose (I think there are some cases in which I would choose). My question to the people is “how is treating the baby like trash and killing it in the womb by the most violent process in the world and tossing it out with the trash and it suffocating any different? Both make the child suffer, at the cost of a person who is not “mature” or able to support the child. Maybe THIS is why God wants sex to be saved for marriage?

The reality is abortion is here to stay. It will never go away. we have the sophistication of technology and current medicine to interven as early as the morning after. In many cases women already know or fear the repurcussion of their actions and are generally in control of their emotions to make a decision that would have an outcome that could be livable and do-able if done early in the first few week. It’s a problem when the secend trimester begins and clearly this child is now fully surviving and breathing w’in the safety of the mother’s womb. Termination is a violent and malicious assault to this child who will be murdered by suctioning him out into a vacuum that will grind him into pulp and then discarded. I held my friends hand during this procedure and was horrifiand seeing the chards of bones grounfd w/ blood and tossed in the trash. We were both in our late 20’s and 15 years later we still cry about the child. I always think if you can decide to have an abortion, you can also decide to NOT have it. We must make adoptions easier for women and for families wanting to adopt. The US continues to favor the birth mothers. My girlfriend , adopted 2 boys- at the end of each year both were given back to the birth mothers. No-one one in this case one.

I can’t help but think of the “sad stories” of women who went to the back-alley doctors for their abortions. Now that it is legal to muder babies, these terrible things are not supposed to happen any more (so the abortionists say). Wake up! Can I point out the utter hypocrisy here? If the baby were in-utero when she/he was murdered/aborted, there would be no outcry from Pro-Choice individuals!!!! As the director of Shattered Men, a ministry for abuse victims, I have talked to many women who have had abortions. Several were suicidal on the anniversary dates of their abortions. I have talked to dozens of men who were in distress because their babies were aborted and they could do nothing to protect them also.

I find several major problems with this clinic. First, this woman was given MEDICATION by someone other then a licensed medical staff and a planned abortion was carried out by non-licensed staff also. Should not these people who did this be charged with practicing medicine without a license at the very least? I personally would not contest a murder charge and at the very least again, a man-slaughter charge against the person who did not do emergency care for a LIVE birth.

Human life is not valued any longer in our society. I ask…why it is so easy to throw away a life just for the convenience of someone else. Pro choice should be called exactly what it is…PRO-DEATH!

While focusing on the deaths of the innocents tugs at some people’s humanity, I never have heard someone address the core thought on slaughtering the innocents. That is: Someone must die because they don’t live up to someone’s great expectations or are an inconvenience. Everyone has a stake in this matter because everyone has or will not live up to someone’s great expectations, especially the worn out gray hairs like me.

So, if you believe that there is a cultural war going on, consider that war is deadly and the historic reasons for war are: dominion over territory and treasure. Having lived through the counter-culture sixties I can tell you that the word WASP (White, Anglo-Saxon, Protestant) was conjured up and used to carry on the cultural war by the political left at this time.

If you consider that the definition of genocide is: The systematic elimination of a racial or ethnic group. Then, count the 1.4 children born to white couples versus the 3.6 children born to couples of color and consider that the abortion issue numerically adds up to genocide and that is only numerically important and if the program is not being “sold” to one race.

I’m curious as to where the mother was. They said she went into labor and gave birth. So does that mean she did nothing to stop this from happening?? And if so, where are the charges against her, there is no way she could have thought this was normal!

Some of us worry about the welfare of known terrorists and yet we still kill millions of human babies. This is not good and God is watching.

This is absolutely horrible. No doubt. But, it is no more horrible than partial-birth abortion, which President Obama and his team in Congress want women to have full access too. The media should be doing an investigative report on the process of partial birth abortion and allow the American people to decide whether it is equally as horrible as this incident or just a women’s “choice”.

What we’re forgetting is that things like this are literally an everyday occurrence. The last admission from the Centers for Disease Control was that about 400 live births were reported in the US every year — and far more must be happening, because, as the CDC’s Willard Cates pointed out, reporting such births is “like turning yourself in to the IRS for an audit.”

Nobody knows the fates of these babies. Sometimes they make the news, like Shaniece. A few examples are Baby W., that Dr. William Waddill strangled in a California NICU in front of a horrified pediatrician and several nurses; Gianna Jessen, the abortion surviver who co-founded Born Alive Truth; and the unidentified baby Texas doctor Raymond Showery drowned in front of several of his staff.

Again, ramp up the outrage a bit. This sort of thing happens literally every day. What’s the real shocker to me is the the media are actually covering the story.

This makes me sick. I am pro choice but believe in responsibility. Why would you carry a baby for 6 MONTHS and then abort? Why didn’t this girl abort within weeks of getting pregnant? Why aren’t people using emergency contraception like the morning after pill? Come on…take some responsibility for your actions!

I appreciate hearing of your concern for the Dr.’s culpability, however the main issue has been pointed out in this article but not addressed. As a physician, surely you recognize that this was a baby, a tiny human being whose life was cut short by an ill-informed young mother. She came face to face with her own child that she paid to have killed in a contract murder. Her gripe is that she came face to face with her decision to kill her baby. If she had not plunked down $1,200 and made several trips in order to take the poisons voluntarily, none of this would have occurred. The young woman would have been making a trip to a delivery room in approximately 18 more weeks to witness the birth of her daughter.

The physician’s oath taken at licensure says something to the effect “First, do no harm”. No law of man can overtake God’s 5th commandment “Thou shalt not kill”. We can call this a “procedure”, but that doesn’t change the facts in this case one bit. The evidence spoke for itself in this case literally. That poor little baby was struggling to survive the murder and that is what the mother of her child witnessed. May God have mercy on her.

23 weeks? It’s MORBID. This entire story is disgusting. There is a HUGE difference between a first trimester abortion, and termination at 23 weeks! The FETUS HAS NO chance of survival outside the womb at say 5-6 weeks, or 12 weeks for that matter. What took place in Tampa is criminal.

For the people who speak of viability and that is where they draw the line on what should be ‘legal and acceptable’ when performing an abortion, here is the definition of viability: Capacity for survival……..hmmmm, I pray that you never become a victim of an unfortunate accident or disease that might put you in a situation of not being able to survive on your own….wouldn’t you hate to be on the receiving end of a situation like that where someone else decides whether you are ‘viable’ or not???? As a doctor, I’m sure you were not inclined to comment beyond the malpractice issue at hand. While I’m no lawyer, tests showed the baby had taken a breath. To me that means it was a life and therefore murder was committed the moment the baby was discarded. At the very least, as a medical facility they have an ethical obligation to preserve life not hasten it’s end. While on the surface this story can lend itself to the late term abortion issue but -for me-this particular case is more an issue of criminal and ethical behavior.

What’s the big deal? Why the big outcry now? What is the difference between this and the fact that Obama voted against the ‘Born Alive Act’. Maybe this worker at the abortion clinic just agreed with Obama that no medical measures be taken to help ‘it’ survive. Maybe she just took it a step further by not providing a blanket for ‘it’ until ‘it’ stopped breathing on ‘it’s’ own. I mean, after all, wouldn’t it have just caused more complications?? Wasn’t that the argument Obama had about providing medical help to abortion survivors? Why is this case of an abortion survivor any different, because a doctor wasn’t present? The outcome is still the same, folks! Where’s the outcry for any and all abortion survivors?

I’m in agreement with Robert. Every day, our “civilized” society shows wanton disregard for the multitudes of unborn torn from their mothers’ wombs legally. This story shows you that all abortions are deadly; it results in the death of a human being. People have become so desensitize to the point that they are willing to kill infants. Lets hope this public outrage brings about social change in this area. Truely this is a culture of death.

I am so confused also. Dr. Manny, you discuss in your blog the terrible treatment of the 18 year old woman. In fact to quote you… “a severe lack of proper medical care provided to a young woman.” Hmm, perhaps I didn’t get all the facts? I didn’t read ANYTHING about mistreatment of this 18 year old. She wanted her child dead. Her child is dead? WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?.

This poor Clinic owner. In fact, we as LAW MAKERS hail, encourage and protect such medical procedures every day as long as the mother is made to feel good about it. As long a mom doesn’t really have to face what is truly happening.. The ONLY “problem” I can see is that the mother saw the child alive. She feels extreme remorse and guilt and she wants the same man she went to to kill her child to now pay for the fact that she was made to deal with the stark reality that SHE CHOSE to end her child’s life. And it didn’t sound in the article that HER life was in danger. I thought “late term” abortions were for mother’s that their life would be in danger if they had the child…. hmmm? Strange.

This whole situation would have been fine IF the Dr. had just drilled the whole in the back of the little girls head and sucked out its brains so the mom would not have seen her alive. It allllll makes since, doesn’t it?

Obviously this woman/girl changed her mind when she actually saw the baby. I think women need to be educated that this isn’t an unidentifiable blob that magically turns into a baby once it comes out of the mother’s body (or if they actually “want” it). Then perhaps they’d think twice about letting someone slaughter their unborn child. Out of sight, out of mind, I guess.

I also don’t understand why everyone is so upset. This happens all the time, and a lot of you voted in a guy for president that wants to make this exact act legal and fund abortion in other countries. Based on his pro-abortion comments about his daughters, I wonder how many of his own grandchildren he will allow to be killed.

Why is no one being charged for murder? A person threw away a baby! That is a horrendous crime, and the person who committed the crime needs to be charged with murder. The Doctor and the employees should be charged with murder. The Mother, will never be charged with murder. But she is an adult and really had no reason except selfiness to abort. Adoption is and should be the only alternative at that late stage. God bless that baby. My reference is I was born to a single mother who was offered an abortion by the air force. She refused was honorable discharged. Had me, raised me on her own without any assistance from the government and put me through college. This story is an outrage for a multitude of reasons. Not only should the doctor face charges, but also the nurse who put a live baby in a plastic bag. I can not believe that this would happen. I really feel sorry for the mother. At 18 she really had no clue what to do, probably went to Planned Parenthood to ask for help, and they sent her to the clinic – their usual M.O. She probably has nobody in her life she can turn to for advice and so she made an awful choice. If the clinic had provided counseling and sonograms and more information I believe she might have made a completey different choice. I forgive her for her mistake, just as Jesus will forgive her if she turns to him and asks for it. That is why He died on the cross for us, to bear our sins and our errors and forgive every sin, not just some selectively (remember He said if you break even one commandment you’ve broken them all!). She will have to live with this for the rest of her life. Would you want to be castigated for your entire life for every mistake you’ve ever made? I think not. Forgive her, offer her caring and compassion and love to help her erase the pain and anguish she is going through. Some day you may need such treatment yourself. Wouldn’t it be a better place we live in if everyone wore their mistakes on their sleeve – we wouldn’t be so quick to throw stones at everyone else.

I am disgusted. My wife and I spent over $20K in fertility and came up with nothing. And yet…there was a baby girl that nobody wanted and didn’t want enough so it was tossed in the trash. White, Black, Yellow or Brown, we would have loved that little girl and gave her a chance rather than throw her in the trash. Granted, I am not going to throw the book at the mother for her decision, but when ya go out of your way and the baby is born rather than aborted, it’s a new book of tricks.

This is one of the most appalling and deplorable stories I have EVER read. What’s worse is that the Freedom of Choice Act will legalize a procedure that brings a human being literally within inches of the miracle that is birth. This child was fully delivered and breathing O2 on its own. Partial birth abortion requires a Dr. to drag a baby breech through the birth canal until the back of the head can be exposed. The baby stays inside the Mother allowing a “murderer” to slam a pair of scissors into the baby’s skull. The “murderer” increases the size of the hole and a suction device removes the baby’s brain. The baby is then delivered still born. My take is that Abortion is one of the most self-serving and despicable acts humanity has ever devised.

I truly do not understand the outcry about this case. Had the “procedure” gone as planned, the doctor would have been there before the baby was expelled from the womb so that he could poke a hole in the baby’s head and suck the contents out. And only after death had been achieved, the baby would have been allowed to come out and be placed in the same biohazard bag to be thrown out. In this case, the ONLY difference is the cause of death. Abortion always ends in a horrific death, period.

If it is true that the lady that had the litter of eight was on workers compensation for a back injury dating back some 7 years then are we looking at the possibility of fraud. Pregnancy puts a lot of strain on the spine. If fraud is proven then the little lady will be looking at jail time instead of spending time rearing the babies.

Nobody I know can live without oxygen, food, etc., and most kids (even 2 or 3 year olds) wouldn’t be able to survive long wrapped in a plastic bag. I don’t know what all the fuss is about. This is EXACTLY what the new president says is perfectly okay to happen. This woman won’t have be BURDENED with this obviously unwanted child. What Americans need to realize, this incident is not an abherration. These late term death camps all practice barbarism of the most inhumane forms. Murder is taking a life….what you are talking about is death in the natural course of events. I recently had a discussion with an abortion proponent who insisted that the abortion issue is based on a woman’s right to “choose” whether to have an abortion and that the “right to choose” is the issue. I made the comment that Barack Obama, now President Obama, supported abortion. This person told me I was wrong, that Mr. Obama only supports legislation that grants women the right to choose. I think the Florida case is a clear indication of where this “right to choose” ultimately winds up….with an innocent, indefensible baby being tossed in the trash. This happens time and time again, no doubt multiple times a day! You’re either for it or your against it. There is no gray area with the issue when babies are being senselessly thrown out in the trash. America needs to clean its smudged glasses so we can see accurately again. Here’s the truth and our reality…whether it’s an embryo, a mid-term or full-term infant…inside or outside the womb…and it’s killed….IT’S MURDER! If someone who works for a financial institution devises a plot to embezzle money, so we call it creative financing? NO! It’s THEFT, it’s STEALING, it’s ROBBERY!!!! Ignorance isn’t bliss America. Scientifically speaking, this action no more terminated a life than if it had been done 30 days sooner. Based on science, even if the process of abortion had been successful it would have resulted in the termination of a living being.

Why all the fuss? The “mother” wished to rid herself of this child, so what does it matter the means in which this is carried out? You can either burn your baby to death with saline, chop it up with a D&C, or just suck its brains out as in partial birth abortion. So how is this really ANY different at all? Reading this story makes me physically ill. This doctor and the staff that participated in this should be charged with manslaughter. What other evidence is needed to prove that an empryo is a living human being. There aren’t words to describe the horror of murdering a newborn baby.

Did anyone sit her down and talk to her about adoption? Was she offered an ultrasound so she could see the precious life inside of her? Did anyone offer her support – encourage her that she could do the right thing? We don’t know this but I highly doubt it.
Secular society tells us that its ‘just a blob of tissue’, that as a single mom she would have nothing to offer a child, that this child would be a burden and inconvenience. And let us not forget, she was probably just down right scared. As a former Pediatric Nurse and wife of a Neonatologist, I was (once again) horrified to read of this death of one more innocent life. We are here to protect the rights of people who can’t speak for themselves as well as those who can. My husband has had babies of this gestational age survive and are now in school. Grant it, there are multiple problems along the way, but I guarantee you this baby would’ve been adopted had it lived for that opportunity.

The less we value the lives of the “innocents”, the less our own lives will be valued.

The only positive thing I can even think of, as a Believer, is that this baby went straight into the arms of Jesus, no matter what religion (if any) the mother’s.

To me this demonstrates exactly how the matter of abortion is not about “women’s rights” as many claim it is. If abortion really is about the “woman’s right to choose” then I have to ask about this little woman’s most fundamental right to live once conceived. If a woman doesn’t even have a right to choose to live, then what good is a “right to choose” an abortion or any other right for that matter?

As a mother, when I hear anything about abortion, or any other crime towards children, it makes me want to hold my children and protect them from any harm. When I first found out I was pregnant at age 18 with my first child, I felt the same way. The natural human instinct to protect and care for my unborn child. I can’t understand the evil behind someone who would choose to end their unborn child’s life. It is unnatural, abnormal, selfish, and plain and simply wrong. That precious little baby along with all the rest of the murdered babies are angels in heaven and thank God no one can do them any more harm.

This story has very much affected me… I can’t stop the tears. I mourn for this baby girl who took 1 breath before being murdered.

How can you sue an abortion clinic for doing exactly what you wanted them to do in the first place? I heard she named the baby I guess she named it in those two seconds it was writhing on the floor and decided she suddenly “cared.” Seriously why would it take you 6 months to decide to have an abortion in the first place? A baby has a heartbeat as early 5 and a half weeks. How can anyone say that a child with a heartbeat is not alive? I don’t get it. The sad fact is this baby was only 3 weeks from a good chance of viability. 26 weeks is considered viability. I know this because I’m 8 and half months pregnant with my first child.

I believe abortion at every stage of life in the womb should be considered murder. And while this action by this clinic was deplorable and unimaginable, the sad fact is that legislation is in the process of being passed to make this type of action legal.

Please… if you are a supporter of partial birth abortion, go find the literature on the actual procedure. Then you will really know that you’re supporting the murder of a child that could be completely viable. If you still support such legislation after that, then there’s something seriously wrong with you.

I gave birth, through no fault or choice of my own, to a child when I was 23 weeks pregnant. My daughter is now 15 months old and is healthy and doing amazingly well. She was only given a 5% chance of survival. I am also pro-choice. I think it is a shame that abortion is allowed for that stage of pregnancy. The 23rd week is the cut off week for survival. They should not be allowed that late in a pregnancy. I do not feel sorry for the “mother” of the baby. She was obviously having difficulty finding someone willing to perform the proceedure since she had to go to more than one clinic to have it done. That is an indication that perhaps it should not be done. At that stage in the pregnancy, she should have carried the child and given it up for adoption since she decided so late that she did not think she could handle the responsibility of raising a child.

Every major civilizations decline was led by moral decay. We are seeing that in the United States today on almost every level. I can think of no moral decay more serious then how a society treats the helpless.

We are told that if abortion were illegal, more women would die in back alley abortions. Well, someone dies in almost every abortion. (There are a few infants who survived abortion and they are all very strong PRO LIFE supporters.

Abortion is NOT about choice. It is about Power…control and MONEY! Abortion is a multi BILLION dollar industry whos product is death. It is about power and control because it gives the radical feminist both power and control. These same people scream that they want EQUALITY but this is an outright lie. This so called pro choice can be used to force a man to pay for 18 years often for a child that is not even his. This is often after telling him that the woman can not get pregnant. Many men want to be the father of the baby they have equally conceived but again, he has no choice of the woman (she is not a mother) choices to kill him or her.

Every woman has a right to choose- choose to keep your legs closed and you won’t have to later murder the unintended and totally innocent child that is the result of your failure to choose correctly!

Disregarding the moral issue of sex outside of marriage for this discussion, there is simply no excuse for abortions to occur with all of the available birth control options that prevent conception. Educate your sons and daughters america! If they’re going to have sex before they are ready for the responsibilities of pregnancy, they must do what’s necessary to prevent conception!

Someone said earlier adoption is a silly idea. Saying there are too many children and not enough families. I do not agree. Look at how long families wait to receive a child, many times years. It is the system that is broken.

I am encouraged by most of the responses — indication that most readers are at least grounded in the fact that murder is a horrendous act whether inside or outside the womb. As for Dr. Manny, I am really disturbed by your comments (perhaps I shouldn’t be, it’s business as usual?)! The issue is not whether the abortionist should have his license taken away or not, the issue is that an innocent human being has been murdered intentionally. The baby is now with the LORD, just like ~3000 babies that are killed every day. The abortionist will have to answer for his actions — “cursed are the hands that shed innocent blood.”
As far as the mother is concerned — WHY ARE YOU SUING? you wanted the baby dead, now she is dead — isn’t that what you wanted? BUT THERE IS HOPE FOR YOU. The one thing for you to do is to plead with God for mercy that He would grant you repentance and forgiveness of this and all your sins.
Some say “God will judge our country for abortions…” God will NOT judge us for those things. Abortion, homosexuality, unfaithfulness, divorce, and the like — these things ARE GOD’S judgment on our country and on humanity. As people do not see fit to honor God as God, He gives people over to depraved mind so that those things that are unnatural and sinful are not only practiced by them, but are encouraged when others do the same.
Some are going to call me a religious right wing nut, but that doesn’t bother me. The fact remains that all will have to answer to God.

This was the murder of an innocent baby. But didn’t the girl origionally go there with just that in mind? She went to this clinic to have her baby aborted…murdered. The doctors and nurses that perform this stuff are below animals.

We now have a President that agrees with what this clinic did…..he advocates the death of live babies born in spite of botched abortions. This is what will happen more and more….so much for “change”

Um…BUT it was okay for her to go to pay 1200 for the doctor to kill the exact same baby that everyone is now outraged about?? WHAT? She paid for them to kill her baby and that’s exactly what they did. I guess she wanted it to be prettier and less messy…she got what she paid for- a terminated human life. No one dragged her into that clinic and forced her…she went and she paid for it. And unfortunately thay poor innocent little life never had a say in it or a chance. God is disgusted with us as a whole. “We” let it go on every day… “we” even fight to protect the right of the mother to do it…”we” need to stop acting as though this case is so horrific. I guess it is more comforting to people to think of the poor baby chopped to bits before it is shoved in the bad and tossed in the dumpster?? Let us just not forget that ultimately this WAS the mother’s CHOICE!!

Why… THAT is what the mother went there for. She was exercising her right to choose… and at least the mother (term used loosely) is still alive.

Wake up call. Perhaps it’s time Americans woke up to the reality and not the slogans as to what is an abortion. An abortion is the destruction of a healthy inutero baby’s life. While people are protesting in the streets for middle term birth canal abortions does anyone really look into how they are done. I wrote a thesis for an MA about abortion and decided to look into that process. The “abortion” is done by birthing only the head, slitting the back of the neck and suctioning out the fetuses brains so the head collapes. Does that sound humanistic to anyone in their right mind? I have been councelling women seeking abortions for over 20 years. One of my conclusions is most of the time it is a cry for help. Most women are facing difficulties with money, relationships etc etc. They need real assistance and support. Who gives them the time of day after they have done their abortions and are left with the same problems. Surprsing statistics show that a great percentage of these women become pregnant again with a half a year of their abortions. I have never , repeat never seen anyone regret their decision to continue their pregnancie despite sometimes inconvienc and sometimes very challenging life crisses. Why is putting a baby in a plastic bag after birth so shocking when brutally almost decapitating it or burning it’s body with saline solution an hour or before is legal and it’s mother’s so called right.There most be a humane way to help women with “unplanned” pregnancies

I really don’t see the difference, dieing in utero or outside the body. I think I would rather see bleeding out than killing by cutting and shoving scissors up through the head in which would lead to severe pain to the baby. In my opinion it is murder either way. It is sick to think that there are so many people unable to have children and would love to adopt these unwanted babies. I think the law should protect these babies through adoption!!!!!!

Its the liberals who support and pass legislation allowing not only late term abortions, but abortions period; and they are the same people defending the nonexistent rights of terrorists, who have killed thousands of Americans, staunchly oppose the death penalty for murderers and are crying out to save the wolves and whales. But they can forget about the millions of infants being butchered. Do some research on late term abortions if you haven’t done so……it will shock you.

What kind of person tries to get an abortion at 23 weeks and then blames someone else for having to watch it happen? that is almost 6 months pregnant. disgusting.

This young woman experienced what has happened to many… they have been misled with words like “fetus” and “terminating a pregnancy” – they are young and naive, scared, and they really are not aware of what it is they are commencing to do. Only when they go through with the actual act of the abortion, they have a terrible awakening to the awareness of what is actually happening. It is not unusual for a woman to suddenly change her mind at that moment, to beg for the procedure to stop, only to be told it is too late. The realization is most graphic to those who have late term abortions, but even those who have early abortions can be slammed unexpectedly with the horror of what they have done. There are a lot of wounded women out there. They believed the lies they were told, went through with abortion and now are suffering terrible grief and guilt- and society still tells them they have done nothing wrong. What a hypocritical nation we are.

The thing I hate most in the abortion debate is the rhetoric used. “Pro-choice”. BS! At least speak plainly. At least be honest and say you want the right to KILL YOUR UNBORN CHILDREN. And it was a baby girl…where was HER choice???? We are living in evil times, in an evil land. Yes, abortion has ALWAYS been around, but not sanctioned, paid for and ENCOURAGED by our society. YOU HAVE A RIGHT TO NOT GET PREGNANT, TOO!! Its not that hard, ladies. What a bunch of crap. Women who wouldn’t fight to the death to PROTECT their child, let alone PAY to have them slaughtered make me ashamed on their behalf. I would die before I would let harm come to my children. I don’t understand why people are so upset over this. A doctor can legally abort the fetus while in the womb, or coming out of the womb… so why is this so shocking? Abortions are legal for mothers as young as 13, this mother was 18. Abortions are legal through all 40 weeks of pregnancy, so how is it any different if the baby is left to die or killed within minutes of being out of the womb? I don’t understand why so many people are shocked over this…

I don’t understand the big deal. If the fetus can be aborted in the womb (or while coming out) , a few minutes after birth is not a big deal. The doctors and nurses did nothing wrong in light of the way abortion is so widespread and legal in this country. What’s a few more minutes?

For the mom: She got what she wanted…a dead baby. Additionally, she hit the jackpot and will now no doubt be featured on all the talk shows, plus she’ll strike it rich. Book, movie deal, possible reality show of her own.

For the doctor: He’ll lose his license. He should be charged with murder, but of course the pro-abortion populace would never let that happen.

For the baby: No chance whatsoever at a life.

This is murder, plain and simple. The owner actually threw the baby in the garbage. He/she should be charged with capital murder, and the doctor accessory to murder.

When I was a teenager, I had an abortion. It was early, I was only about 4 weeks, and even though I was couseled that this was a “procedure”, and little more, my soul felt so empty when I left that place. There was no question in my mind what I had done, no matter what they said.

Sometimes I wonder how we can have so many people who hate abortion, and yet….abortion is still legal. I didn’t read every comment, but I read a great many of them. How did we elect a president who will only do more of this? Was our whole country sleeping? It seems as though the country was hypnotized, and with every day that passes, I think he reveals himself more.

If abortion is to remain legal, I think that every woman who chooses to have one should have to view a picture of an aborted fetus that is the same age as the one she is aborting. She should have to look at the tiny fingers….the tiny feet. I know that I could not have gone through with mine if I had known that the baby inside me was more than a blood clot….that’s what they told me….”it’s little more than a large clot and tissue”……show them the truth, so they are truly accountable for their actions.

This is horrific! However, there was a time when I would have been shocked by this story. In the last month I’ve heard of two of these types of cases. In fact the other relates to another Florida botched abortion that was made into a movie called “22 Weeks” and will be aired in August 2009. It’s time we reawakened the conscience of our society, one that has been dulled by the culture of death! If society doesn’t respect life from beginning to end then who picks the parts of “life” that need respect.

O.K. the biggest question screaming at me was how long did it take the mother to respond to her baby being put in a trash bag alive? The article on FoxNews on the internet talks abouit them finding the baby’s decomposing body one week later, when exactly was it she decided to let the police in on her mishap? When she realized there was money to be made from the five minute delay in mistreatment of her baby. What was done after air filled the lungs was merely supposed to be done before the baby ever took her first breathe which was about a five minute span, what exactly is she upset about? No, she sees the dollar signs of a lawsuit, that is the only explanation for a week delay in finding her dead little baby girl in a trash can. My goodness, what disregard we have come to.
