I'm pretty sure that they recently came out with a well researched study that said eating at late hours doesn't make much of a difference. Essentially it is calories in, calories out. If you eat 2000 calories in one meal, it won't make a difference whether you eat that in the morning or at night.

I don't think that organic food is all that great. The only benefit to the idea is that foods are generally a product of their environment. This is a little weird, but if you ate me, like a cannibal, you might get a leaner, more nutrient rich Joe. Since I'm more lean and my body has with it the nutrient rich diet you may benefit. If you ate me after I took the year to get fat and eat all the worst stuff, well then it would make sense that you are getting a Joe rich in saturated fat and fatty muscle.

Is that strange that i came up with that analogy.

Anyway, I think these are good tips generally good. Remember, if the whole world went organic, we would have to cut down the entire Amazon Rainforest to supply the world with food, since organic farming has a smaller yield. I'm doing my part by eating conventional food, what are you doing?

Wow, I sure wouldn't want to take too much health advice from Tanya. Some points are misleading; others are flat out wrong.

She is incorrect about organic vs conventional foods. Not only do conventional foods often use harmful pesticides and hormones, but a significant percentage of the nutrient value is stripped due to tainted soil conditions, etc.

Also, while calories in vs. calories out is indeed part of the weight loss/gain equation, it's certainly not the entire equation. Quality of calories is equally as important--if not more--than quantity. To state that eating a bagel won't cause weight gain if it's the only thing one eats is true; but the link between processed carbs between obesity is undeniable. The human body is not meant to consume white flour products and suffers as a result. To try to debunk a myth on a technicality is irresponsible. The same can be said for the concept of a sugar buzz.

Lastly, eating after 8PM can indeed cause weight gain. It is at this time of the day where the human body enters its cycle of "appropriation"--where it extracts the nutrients from the day's food intake for use in the body, and preparing non-nutrients for storage and elimination. Interrupting this cycle by requiring the body to invest immense energy into further digestion (NO process in the body requires more energy than digestion) overwhelms the body, often leading to the quick storage of food as body fat or other forms of toxins.

I don't agree with your comparison of organic vs conventional food. You say that organic food isn't healthier...not true. Sure it pretty much is the same food, however the fact that the conventional food has the pesticides and additives in or on it makes that food detremental to the body. Sure organic food is more expensive. The fact is, anything good for you is always more expensive. Plus, you get what you pay for.
